I was not that committed lol. I took a handful of pictures over like 10 minutes and then went inside. Figured I'd come back out later and get more pictures at a different stage, but the clouds moved in so I couldn't see anything.

I had a toy monkey who would not stop screaming like monkeys scream, you know in the fucking middle of the night. I once threw it off the window and found it the next day in the street, decided to give him a last chance and took it home with me.
That night it started screaming again and the battery was slowly dying, so it was even creepier.
I smashed it with a hammer and threw it somewhere far from me.

My son had a talking Barnie. "I love you, you love me" over and over in the middle of the night when he would wake up. One morning about 2am I put on my boots and took Barnie from the crib. I stood there in my underwear and boots and stomped Barnie until he was no longer able to express his adoration. The wife wasn't happy when she was awakened by the thumping noises. I, however, was satisfied knowing that the maddening dinosaur had met his demise.

Kennel dogs are surprisingly not ugly. But it made me sad that they had a german shepherd-husky mix for years, he was the kindest motherfucker and no one wanted to take him home because he was old. Heard a few years ago he finally found someone.
But different people different tastes, so it wasn't much of a problem here, every dog had someone who found them cute.

I was thinking about the pug/beagle mix currently in the kennel near me, in comparison to the other dogs he's not the best looking. And yes, age is a huge factor. I'm considering once I have my own place fostering older dogs. I met some people who do that when my university had a therapy dog petting session around exam time last year.

Here the sheltr doesn't price them by bred, they just want to find a home to them.
But then again, this is a smaller town shelter in eastern europe.
User avatar
#145 - nyxeos (09/24/2015) [-]
I'm not sure if it's just breed they're priced by, it might be that the others have more of the needed shots. But pricing by breed helps in a way with getting them homes, since someone who isn't as picky might go for the uglier dog because they can afford it, while someone who really wants the super cute puppy can have it if they're willing to give more to the kennel, since they're always in need of money. All I know is I now want half the dogs in that kennel haha

I have digitalized and updated wand design. Went for a more simple wand, with dueling in mind thus the crooked design.
User avatar #56 to #55 - nyxeos (02/01/2015) [-]
That's pretty cool How long did it take you to make it?
#57 to #56 - psdeath (02/02/2015) [-]
I have no idea, but not too long. Perhaps an hour, perhaps two, tops three. Draw some lines, use bucket, draw more lines, use bucket, fine-tune with single pixel pencil (because I'm a scrub), and fix details. Done.

Oh and thank you. I updated the unexpected effects section a bit to match my impulsive nature.
User avatar #59 to #58 - nyxeos (02/02/2015) [-]
Well, while still awesome, I do have to laugh at the fact that you purposefully described your wand as shooting off prematurely haha. And hey, if you're looking for more to do feel free to make me a wand and I will forever think you're awesome. No pressure though, it'd just be something cool to have.
User avatar #60 to #59 - psdeath (02/03/2015) [-]
The only reason I could do this was because it was simple, but I'd gladly try! Remind me of what wand you've got, and what kind of design you have in mind and I'll try to make something out of it.

Oh and my username is CloakRune13693, if you feel like adding me.
User avatar #61 to #60 - nyxeos (02/03/2015) [-]
11 3/4 inches, Apple wood with unicorn hair core and rigid. I don't have anything in mind really since I'd be happy with anything, but maybe something a little more natural than yours? If that makes sense. I added you, and feel free to message me with more questions if you want more direction, but it's honestly up to you because you're amazing for just doing it haha.
#62 to #61 - anon (02/04/2015) [-]
Man, I will try to work on it but I have realized how bad Pottermore tests are. Reading up on all wood types, I realize how important the personality is, and how little the tests says about your personality. My wand, and my friend's, doesn't fit at all.

In other words, it's better to go through all types of wood, pick a couple which ideal master fits you to at least some degree, ask those who know you the best which one of those fits you best, then make up your mind depending on what they say.

So, with that in mind I discussed with my friends and my family, and concluded that Red Oak or Dogwood fit me best, which means I must re-design my own wand. However, while I do that I'll try to do yous at the same time
User avatar #63 to #62 - nyxeos (02/04/2015) [-]
Well apple does fit me relatively well. I don't consider myself particularly charming, but I get along with anyone. And I do really love animals. Cedar would work really well for me too, as would ash, both because I am really stubborn/loyal (hence the rigid aspect, and even the unicorn core). So you can take what you want from that.

And no worries about my wand. It's completely on your schedule, like I said before I'm just happy to get one, so I don't mind waiting.

Are you from Newfoundland?
User avatar #46 to #45 - nyxeos (01/21/2015) [-]
Well this seems random. No, I'm from Ontario. My mom is from Newfoundland though, so I have some extra love for the place. Potentially making a road trip down there this summer with friends. Are you from Newfoundland? And why exactly did you ask me this anyways?

Not as much as I'd like. I spent an entire summer there once though. Went with my parents for a three week vacation, then they went home and I stayed until school started again. Have you traveled much outside Newfoundland?
User avatar #51 to #50 - bradhumby (01/21/2015) [-]
thats cool and sadly no, I've never been outside of Newfoundland, I'd like to other places in Canada just to see how different it is
User avatar #52 to #51 - nyxeos (01/21/2015) [-]
You should definitely travel whenever possible. B.C. is really beautiful too, it's kind of similar to Newfoundland, at least where I've been. If you're going for difference though you'd be better off traveling outside of Canada.
