Because I'm in the damn industry and I know what I'm talking about? I talk to devs regularly, I have friends in various media companies. A friend of mine, Gustav? He co-runs GamersGate.

The percentage of people who lie when signing up for their Xbox Live or Steam account is less than ten percent, and those that do lie place their age either ridiculously high or within two years of their real birthdate. It isn't nearly enough to cause a statistical discrepancy.

Ah yeah, I forgot about the fact that they obviously surveyed everyone who's ever bought a game and found out that the people who lie about their age only do so within those limitations.

But honestly, I'm just gonna have to doubt you on this one. Sorry, even if you are right.

It's as easy as going to Microsoft, Sony, and Valve and saying, "Hey, what's your demographic data?" Considering the ESA is the trade association for the entire video games industry, I'm pretty damn sure it's accurate.

There's no way for them to tell. Kids lie about their age all the time when they register. A lot of kids don't buy their games, and may be gifted them. There's literally no way to tell for sure. How the hell do you think it's accurate?
