Well, the funny thing about that, is that some processes in nuclear physics happen to temporarily break conservation of energy, which is acceptable, but only within the time that Heisenberg's relations indicate, and surely enough, this exact thing seems to happen. If Heisenberg is right, there is strong evidence that probability (and thus the wave function and all that stuff we idiots take to be fact) rules the world.

With that I concur halfheartedly.
Example: I know a woman who has this hormonal disturbance and shit. End result is that it's nearly impossible for her to lose weight.
She tried (and I mean hardcore tried, none of that go-to-the-gym-once-then-give-up shit), and her doctor ran a few tests to confirm it. In her case, though her lifestyle of course dictates some of it (I mean, she could quit her day job and exercise all day and never sleep and such, which of course she will not), she is mostly without fault for her obesity. Whilst I agree on a philosophical basis that we as a society should not carry those who choose to break their own legs (so to speak), there's another problem with this.
Healthy food is expensive and exercise is time consuming.
If you cannot afford to eat healthily, and if you do not have the time to exercise, then you're probably in the group that cannot afford to pay for a hospital bill anyway.

In short: If everybody had the same financial support and there were no diseases that would inflict upon one the fate of fatness, then yes, I agree. But this is not the case, so I disagree.
