The air pressure inside the tank is high: hot air has more volume... etc..
THEN the air pressure inside DRASTICALLY decreases instantly, and the entire structure is crushed by the outside air pressure.
The same phenomenon can be viewed by heating up a pop can on the stove for around 2 minutes and then quickly putting the can into ice cold water :
