Well for some like kelly clarkson, you're completely right. They preform for the money, not for the fans. They lose their voice, there goes their income. Iron Maiden loves their fans and preformed for them no matter the circumstance, and I appreciate that.

But one group's singer, can't remember their name for the life of me, someone mentioned it in this comment section already. Anyways, that person ended up fucking up their voice permanently because they sang while they had a cold, and their entire career was damaged because of it.

That's all it comes down to. The ones who quit because they're a bit sick have a reason, but that just shows they care more about the money maker than the money givers.

The difference is between icons built for success and people who love music? So you're expected to sing completely normally with shit running down your pants if you're an icon, but all you have to do as someone who loves music is take a couple of pain pills for your leg and sit down? I don't like bieber either, but good luck singing a song and dancing around while your ass is exploding.

It was a generic remark, man. The point was if you're doing what you love you'll push yourself beyond what people would say is the line between a smart decision and stupid mistake.

Now, as far as what your saying, sure, I can respect that. Involuntary shitting is no fuckin' joke. But there were others on that list that had less of an excuse. It would be unfair to focus on one and forget them.

In addition, breaking your leg is a lot more than "taking a few pain pills and sitting down". What's more, it sounds like you're trying to belittle the fact that a guy experienced a severe injury and still played while being examined without missing a beat. Regardless of your opinion of Dave Grohl or Foo Fighters, you have to take a look at that scenario and have some sort of respect for the dedication to not only his craft but the audience as well.

But I digress. The thing is, when you have a passion for something, it'll be shown through your actions and how hard you hustle to achieve success. Id wager that's why you see the "old guard" bands striving their hardest while certain pop icons (which, I'm not trying to target the genre specifically, I am just more familiar with these cases happening with artists from that area) seem to bow out of a tour for the smallest reasons.

To put it in comparison:

Iron Maiden has played a show while their band members were sick. They had tech crew members holding buckets for them to run off stage and throw up in to between songs.

Kelly Clarkson cancelled 6 shows in a row because she needed to "rest her voice".
