 One of Blaziken's possible abilities is Speed Boost, which passively raises it's speed stat EVERY turn. Since speed and attack are considered the best stats in competitive gameplay, and Blaziken already has pretty good stats for those, the ability just makes a broken powerhouse that steamrolls teams before they even get a chance to attack back.  Admittedly, I never liked Blaziken. Why is it banned? Forgive me, I haven't played Pokemon in a long time.  Fan-based bullshit known as Smogon. Only Nintendo can make the rules on their game.
