I strongly agree. People here need to go back to seeking correctness. Besides, most corrections are just done in a friendly way, or simply for jokingly mocking somebody, not to feel "alpha", "strong" or whatever stupid people on this site says. I hate reading comments like the one from captnnorway. If anything, he's a dick for insulting the guy from the post and siding with the dumb girl in something that is not even a fight, but a joke. And for his lack of ability to identfying jokes, seems to be the one to have poor social skills.

Annoying bandwagons sure are anoying here on the internet.

Haha, You do realize making fun over people you don't know isn't a joke. If it was the other way around, that OP which turned out to not be OP after all, but I'll refer to him as OP anyway was the one who posted something first and some chick made a joke about him in the comments, then everyone would say it was bullying and that poor kid hadn't done anything bad, but just because OP made the joke, everyone sides with him.
User avatar #64 - anametoremember (02/15/2014) [-]
Huh? Not really, I don't really understand what you're up to with that comment. Also, "making fun ver people you don't know isn't a joke". Really? First, why do you assume they don't know each other? They have each other in Facebook, so odds are that they do. And second, making fun of strangers is not at all a new concept on internet jokes. Really, not even a little. That's what you do people all the time both in content and comments. Like in this thread pretty much, since you guys are now mocking the guy from the post without knowing him, and way worse that the way he mocked the girl's grammar.
#46 - huecubed (02/15/2014) [-]
lol, there's a difference in correcting someone's grammar, and just trying to be grammatically correct on a teen's page where they are most likely to shorten words etc.

Also, how is this a joke? He probably added her and she was left to just hang on his probably small friends list, and wanted to "win" at something. This is obviously a case of "euphoria".

Goddamn.
User avatar #63 - anametoremember (02/15/2014) [-]
Not necessarily. People here just have way too much ego and love to think they're better than most people, especially if these people appear in posts from Facebook, Tumblr or other similar websites; and, of course, think that these normal people are fedora-wearing pony-fucker autist asocial low-IQ down syndrome moherfuckers, wich is nothing but the trend stereotype and hate-bandwagon on FJ right now. Anything that resembles lightly the stereotype gets instant hate, and that is just ridiculous. All I see in the post is an average guy joking about the grammar of a typical fangirl to slightly funny results. But you guys just love to bring facts out of your asses and act as if stereotypes are serious, and denigrate normal people. Just look at the comments: almost all of them couldn't think of anything else but insulting the guy. Seriously, calm down.
#67 - huecubed (02/17/2014) [-]
What did this guy "correcting her grammar" achieve? A sense of superiority? A sense of victory? I mean, he's trying to be a grammar nazi on facebook, where people use slang, abbreviations etc. What's ridiculous is how you are defending him? Sure, he may not be a "euphoric autist neckbeard", but it seriously looks like he had nothing better to do than correct her grammar, which makes him out to be some socially awkward guy.

Here's a question: Would YOU do this on facebook? If so, then the conversation ends here.

I have nothing against the belief itself (as long as it's not a completely fucked up belief, like Muslim fundamentalist/extremists)... as long as it's kept to each his own.

In my country, "belief" shoves its nose into every possible corner. For instance, go figure, our Church wanted the state to remove sewage lids (tops, whatever these things are called) that have something similar to our country's coat of arms because "people shot not be stepping on the holy cross!" (yeah, if you look closely, the falcon is holding a cross in its beak.

If you don't have any evidence to back up your theories then they will remain theories and thus irrelevant.

If you really believe in a heaven or a god, then put your theories to the test, if you know what I mean. Otherwise your theories are in part with a global fallacy which is oppressing science, thus you are a part of the problem.

Science doesn't need saved, it's fucking science. No force on earth can stop it. I simply believe in something grander that helped shape everything. And afterlife because it makes a bit of "sense". Also I take into consideration that everything on this planet is based off our way of thinking. Who is to say that there isn't something out there that we can't comprehend. Can't be proven, can't be disproved. That is why they call religions "faith". Now clearly we are not going to be changing each others minds, i'm fine with that. Because bob down the street can vote. Meaning he can contribute to the outlawing of gay marriage and other human rights simply because they go against his own beliefs. As well as the fact that his beliefs, when shared by enough people, may also interfere with the furthering of human knowledge. The idea of "Let's not ask questions because god said so" or any variation thereof, is ridiculous. Willful ignorance is intrinsically harmful. This being said, I know plenty of religious people who absolutely do not fit this demographic. So I think we shouldn't so much hate on religion, as hate on the idiotic minority who spread this bullshit. You know, like the ones in relatively high government positions right now.
User avatar #300 - ninonybox (02/07/2014) [-]

" It's not really altering your life so who gives a shit what bob down the street thinks"

Tell that to the gays who are not allowed to marry (or be in "a civil union", call it whatever the fuck you may, I'm talking about the fact that the state should be the one who legally weds you) because "God said so".
That's a basic example of violation of human rights in my book, just because the Church wants to have its saying in the legal system.
User avatar #294 - telmarine (02/07/2014) [-]
its not religion as a whole its people using religion as an excuse to try and "protect" their children from being ridiculed for being different becuase they grew up in an age where homosexuality was a shameful thing

they don't want their kids to be different so they want to make everything a soft cornered politicly correct world

its shitty

Religion and "beliefs" are holding science and advancement down.

This is 2014, we are not mad brutes, we should question everything we believe before coming to a conclusion.
