isnt that a matter of persepective though? if one kid hates batman but loves baseball so make-a-wish sets up a meeting between the kid and their favorite player where the kid gets to play catch with him and shit (an event that probably costs next to nothing) isnt that just as big to that kid?

but make-a-wish doesnt just give one kid an event like this. they do a lot of stuff for a lot of kids, this just happened to be a little bigger (again likely through the help of donations and volunteers) than typical.

of course, they could be marshing into a hospital with 13 kids, but that might just be dramatic for some of them, and it's this boys DREAM to be batman. The cause isn't what is important but the energy they put into this will always stay with them.
10,000 people will think (I did something for this dying boy) and cherish that memory.
It's not about (I did something for these 13 dying children) as they're already dying right?

I don't even know. It's such a small cause to make a child happy that you shouldn't be complaining. Like billions are wasted on weapons and that's a NEGATIVE cause. That's billions in - for the world. While this small + with so little time and energy from each person is somehow meant to be used properly somewhere else?

you're saying that letting a bunch of random, probably healthy individuals feel good about themselves and help one kid be happy for a day is more worth while than helping a bunch of dying kids be happy? plus i'm pretty sure I would feel better about helping a bunch of kids than helping just one. what they should have done is get "batman" to visit a children's hospital and let the kids help him defeat bad guys or something cos then all the kids are happy

Maybe others kids saw it and felt a little better. Maybe they felt like someone cares about people in their situation. And maybe it helps raise awareness.

that's not what I said at all. they should do something smaller for lots of kids, that way at least you are making more than one kid's life happy, even if its not as happy as that one kid would have been it is still better.

why only give one man a feast when you can give many a meal?
