 Yes all Purebloods are related, but these aren't all or even mostly close blood relations. For example, the Malfoys are only very distantly related to the Weasleys. Draco Malfoy is only related to the Weasleys because they share a Great-Great-Great Grandfather in Phineas Nigelus Black, making Ron and Draco fourth cousins. The Potters are more closely related to the Malfoys: Harry and Draco are third cousins, but are still fourth cousins with the Weasleys. The Prewetts are possibly not related by blood to the Blacks at all: the only evidence in the last seven generations is a marriage between Ignatius Prewett, Molly's uncle, and Lucretia Black, Sirius' uncle. It's never mentioned if their marriage produced any children. I said "very likely at least distantly related" because 1. I don't consider anything other than first or second cousins to be closely related, and 2. unless Slytherin is significantly smaller than the other four houses, they have to have at least some Half-Bloods and even some Muggleborns in there. Hell, even the Malfoys have to have some Muggle blood in there somewhere, otherwise Draco would be a harelipped, mentally deficient hunchback. Though that certainly explains Crabbe and Goyle and probably Pansy Parkinson. She may not be as dim witted as them, but the way she's frequently described as looking "like a pug" may point to physical developmental issues stemming from inbreeding. Or she's just ugly, I dunno. Also, nitpick: the Tonks family isn't pureblood. Ted Tonks, the father of Nymphadora Tonks, was a muggleborn. He's only related to any of those Slythering schmucks because he had the immense luck to nab the least psycho of the Black sister, Andromeda. | ||
