 It was originally in German then translated into English, so the translation may be a bit wonky. I can't really say for sure. I've never heard of a fantasy calling years and days "orbits" and "cycles". You'd think that'd be a sci-fi thing. . I can't read German, so I can't tell you how the original writing holds up. I'm merely relying on the translator's writing skills. Though, so far, it's great. | ||

azraelthemage (07/11/2014) [-]  Dude, the opening sequence of The Dwarves is awesome. ORCS EVERYWHERE!!!! Dwarves are so badass, they kick so much ass even while being plague ridden. To be honest, the cover is what got me interested. It's so simple, yet has some charm in it. It's about a lone dwarf that was raised by humans trying to find his place in dwarf society. I'm only about a third into it right now, and it's great. Don't worry. Those spoilers aren't really spoilers. You're safe to click them. ill have a look at that other series as well. The spoiler thing just made me more interested in reading the book . read it one line at a time. It sounds awesome ill look for it in the shop. but now im off to bed . It was originally in German then translated into English, so the translation may be a bit wonky. I can't really say for sure.  The reason it wasnt in the film was because Tom was not affected by the ring and that would be too hard to explain in the movies because Jackson wanted the ring to be all powerful. Same reason why Faramir's resistance to the ring was not brought up in the movie. As much as everyone loves Tom Bombadil, he's not a necessary addition to the book. He shows up for a few chapters, then leaves. That's it. but wasn't he the reason frodo had the sword that he used to stab the wraith? #100 -
