 yes but you don't plan for your suicide on purpose from the start that's haram too, suicide is highly forbidden in islam. but lets say for example you were on the battle field and you were in situation where you will either be captured or killed maybe then let loose a grenade, and even then try to throw the grenade in a way that could make you survive instead of killing yourself. and i don't agree with being a jihadist if you go to usa and bomb something, god highly forbid killing innocent people, even during war (to an extent if forbidding even cutting down a tree for no reason) #35 -

Even if you're jumping in front of a truck to push a child out of the way, you should be trying to tackle him as hard as you can so that you move out of the way too, or jump afterwards. I know you may very well end up killing yourself, but the point is that should never be your intention. i understand that, but all am saying is suisidal bombers aint terrorist the real terrorist is the one who is taking our oil!! there is only one thing that i know, we brothers got to stay togeather soldi my brothers!!! | ||

During Jihad, you're not allowed to needlessly destroy infrastructure or even plants and trees (an example of needing to do it is razing a fort you know the enemy will recapture and use against you, for example). And even if you think you're certainly going to die, you can't suicide to lessen the pain. There's a hadith where the prophet said a man who was fighting Jihad was going to go to hell, so the companions followed him to see why that was. The man was stabbed in the stomach, and pressed the sword further into himself in order to die quicker, because how much it hurt. That was considered suicide, even in battle.
