"balanced price to power ratio" it costs $2500 and has a 660m

lenovo y500 with dual gt750m $1500
asus g75 with gtx670m $1400

you pay $1000 for a fancy keyboard and brand name.
User avatar #82 - xenophaigus (05/05/2013) [-]
Haha, I have the asus
User avatar #106 - CatHatMan (05/05/2013) [-]
I've loved that design since they started using it. my tech class teacher had the g73 with the i7, 16gb ram, & 2 250gb ssd pretty friggin sweet.

but i like that the y500 can switch out the second gpu for a disc drive or fan. but the real dilemma is whether to save for the laptop or a gtx680.
User avatar #110 - xenophaigus (05/05/2013) [-]
The more cost effiecient method is to get the desktop. It's approx. $900 and has all the same capabilites as the laptop model. I just jchoose the laptop cause I dont have anyplace to put the desktop.
User avatar #115 - CatHatMan (05/05/2013) [-]
yep i've put in about 900 on this desktop and it still does games pretty well except dayZ. I want to get a new laptop though since mine has a broken screen and it costs $150 just for the screen.
User avatar #116 - xenophaigus (05/05/2013) [-]
Yea... I', gonna have to get my screen replaced and Ive only had this laptop for 3 months. I dropped my headphones on it about 3 days after buying it and left a huge scuff(about 3 mm wide by 12 cm long) right in the middle of my screen. It's somewhat easy to see past but... For pete's sake I only had the damn thing for 3 days before it happened.
User avatar #119 - CatHatMan (05/05/2013) [-]
well it's even worse for me. it's an 08' macbook pro i got for helping a guy do an engine swap all i wanted was something i could learn how to use osx with. then like 2 weeks the screen broke.

i think you could compare it to the lexus LFA

I'm sorry, but I couldn't have not notices I was mentioned in this conversation.

As you got away from the subject I will back nierydoc from two sides.

Firstly, I shall give you a rational and practical reason. In law, there is a sentence: "lex posterior derogat legi priori" which means that the newer law/norm replaces the older one. I think it can be applied here.

Secondly, there is a part in the Bible where Jesus explains why did Moses give some laws (in this case its about divorce) that he is now changing. And since I have access to the Bible here it is:

Matthew 19:3-9:

Some Pharisees came to him [Jesus] to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

Defending a basic opinion is surely not being equal to a human catalog.
And a pastor in my area would say that all faggots should just fuck themselves. I shit you not. I don't need a middle man here. If i'll need to I'll go straight to the source, not someone who will bend and twist the source and then ask me for a tithe. Besides, not even the most famous theologians know whether bible shall be taken literally or shall it be interpreted, so what is the chance of my local pastor knowing which religion and way of following it is the truest of them all? I might as well go to an imam and his truth would differ a lot from that of a pastor.

It is your own formed opinion, you hold it dear, therefore, you shall be able to defend it at any time. Pastors are hardly the authority to consult questions like that mainly because they are already biased. Their job on that issue would be making up justifications and excuses. Why should I hold authority of what a pastor says higher than what their god allegedly said himself?
#147 - nierydoc (04/16/2013) [-]
Another thing I take issue with here. The bible was still written by men. Not god. His voice, their words. I would be able to defend my point, back home, or with a bible. I can't do it now. We have just gone through this, so I'll assume you haven't forgotten. If you don't want to hold what a pastor says to any high esteem, why would you take what I say?
