My depression keeps getting worse... I'm pretty tired of life honestly.

Around christmas before I fixed my drawing tablet I thought of an idea for a comic, but it's a little too late. But my birthday is coming up soon so just change the theme and it'd work fine.

Come in to open gifts, one is covered in wrapping paper in the perfect shape of a bike, handle bars and everything.
"I wonder what it could be..."
Open it
It's a fucking computer monitor

Simple joke, stupid humor, but I think it could grant a chuckle or two.
#250 - nickypickle (01/27/2015) [-]
depression comes and goes. thats how I felt. there were times where I thought killing myself was just one single step away, and times where I couldn't even think about it, what, with my family being amazing and nice people who didn't deserve to suffer more than me

computer monitors are really useful! If you already had one, dual screens are very popular and give you lots more space. I like the idea of a christmas themed spiel though!

Sorry you're feeling depressed! Whenever I feel depressed about my life, I just binge eat, cry, and sleep in that order. Or I just draw whatever comes to mind

you don't have to make a comic if you don't feel like it. if you do though, I'll draw whatever you want me to.

Interesting, because I have never had any of those problems. It's impossible for it to be hardware specs, because both PC and mac use the same hardware. Both Intel and Nvidia, often from the same manufacturer. Seems to me more like potentially a tablet driver issue on PC, which PC is known to have (windows ink can be really fucking stupid). That's partially because Wacom and Apple are pretty buddy buddy. But I've never had those issues on my Asus. Might be on a case by case basis, but I've seen friends on macs have problems before.

That seems off to me. Mac computers are generally atleast 200% the cost of the equivalent windows machine. I have a rather incredibly powerful laptop that I got for less than half the cost of others in my animation program that got the "required" mac (very similar i7 cpu, far better gpu, same ram, larger screen). Saying that you have to be stinking rich to buy a PC that can fully support photoshop, but could somehow afford a mac that could is a massive fallacy.
I can see how the window layout would be better on mac, but it's nothing that isn't solvable with a second screen
#67510 - nickypickle (01/25/2015) [-]
technicals.
it varies from each setting. especially if you would customly build each computer yourself. this is the brushes acting up with NVIDIA, 16 GB of ram, etc. of that level of cost, it still produces jagged lines and is uncontrollable. the windows still move choppy at BEST, when navigating.
User avatar #67511 - citruslord (01/25/2015) [-]

....yup,nobody needs these, however,MS does have its merits.
-nobody needs the given materials, but the option to include 3d materials is quite handy
-especially the puppet.nobody should rely on it,but it helps in tricky situations
-quick access to layer properties for halftones/color
-transparent colour is the bestz thing since sliced bread. Why can't I find that shit anywhere else?

really, both programs offer more or less the same stuff,MS with more technical features, while SAI has a rather large user base with an abundance of brushes.

It's more of a preference thing:I tested both and went for MS5 in the end.I don't need any more brushes then some pens and the airbrush,so that's fine with me,but I really like the stuff I listed.

kinda' the same with illustrator and inkscape.
inkscape should be shit compared to illustrator ,but seriously,I think illu has shit-tier handling.Powerful, with a shitton of features, but for freehanding vectors it's shite.

tl;dr: I prefer MS5's handling.chill,nigga

I've got a good version of Photoshop, but fail to see how it could be better on mac. same features and all.
Ill have to give sai a try again, it's an overall cheap program, and I know it makes fantastic lineart.
User avatar #67508 - nickypickle (01/25/2015) [-]
its more optimized for mac. it makes smoother lines, the windows are easier to manage and control, and it looks better and feels better as a whole. its just because macintosh is a sheltered piece of hardware that, in itself, is fit for design, because it can handle things like PS. PS is highly reliant on the strength of your computer, and with windows, you need to be stinking rich to have a build that would support smooth lines. it DOESNT MEAN PHOTOSHOP IS STILL OBSOLETE TO WINDOWS. just brushes and drawing in general. photoshop isnt that big of a drawing program anyway.

if you use a windows, sai is the way to go, trust me.

#67505 - nickypickle (01/25/2015) [-]
if you use a mac, photoshop is better. windows, sai.
each is more optimized for its own system.
though, painter 2015 is the best out of all of them. BUT, lets not forget their own personal niches.

Photoshop- master of manipulation, picture editing, and easy-to-install-brushes. used for PHOTOS and IMAGE QUALITY.
Sai- extremely talented in practicality- the bare minimum essentials to create great paints and is the best at blending. good for CARTOONS.
Painter- all of the above, and is the industry standard. difficult to use, but is the one GOD of making PAINTINGS.
#67531 - anonymous (01/25/2015) [-]
>implying you can't make paintings with sai
>implying sai is only good for cartoons
>implying you're not completely wrong
#67534 - nickypickle (01/25/2015) [-]
>impligging I gave them any negatives to each respective niche
>impligging painter still isnt better
>IMPLIGGING I SAID IT WAS ONLY GOOD FOR CARTOONS

y'know, you gotta try sometimes.
User avatar #67507 - citruslord (01/25/2015) [-]

User avatar #67509 - citruslord (01/25/2015) [-]
Interesting, because I have never had any of those problems. It's impossible for it to be hardware specs, because both PC and mac use the same hardware. Both Intel and Nvidia, often from the same manufacturer. Seems to me more like potentially a tablet driver issue on PC, which PC is known to have (windows ink can be really fucking stupid). That's partially because Wacom and Apple are pretty buddy buddy. But I've never had those issues on my Asus. Might be on a case by case basis, but I've seen friends on macs have problems before.

Any reason to why manga sucks?
User avatar #67506 - nickypickle (01/25/2015) [-]
www.funnyjunk.com/art/67505#67505

MANGA STUDIO IS SHITE
because its only semi-good at organizing manga pages and shit.

theres so many useless brushes and templates and TRASH TIER BACKGROUNDS THAT YOU DONT FUCKING NEED TO MAKE FUCKING ART-this is only for manga. manga, as in lined, pen drawings, with color brushes fit to make someone hurl.

EUUUGgh its bad.
User avatar #67520 - pickaxe (01/25/2015) [-]
....yup,nobody needs these, however,MS does have its merits.

I've got nothing in mind... I'm just depressed...
#248 to #247 - nickypickle (01/27/2015) [-]
You might have to check your windows updates if anything changes for a bit.

Sorry you're feeling depressed! Whenever I feel depressed about my life, I just binge eat, cry, and sleep in that order. Or I just draw whatever comes to mind

you don't have to make a comic if you don't feel like it. if you do though, I'll draw whatever you want me to.
#249 to #248 - venomousvalentine (01/27/2015) [-]
My depression keeps getting worse... I'm pretty tired of life honestly.

Around christmas before I fixed my drawing tablet I thought of an idea for a comic, but it's a little too late. But my birthday is coming up soon so just change the theme and it'd work fine.

Come in to open gifts, one is covered in wrapping paper in the perfect shape of a bike, handle bars and everything.
"I wonder what it could be..."
Open it
It's a ******* computer monitor

Simple joke, stupid humor, but I think it could grant a chuckle or two.
#250 to #249 - nickypickle (01/27/2015) [-]
depression comes and goes. thats how I felt. there were times where I thought killing myself was just one single step away, and times where I couldn't even think about it, what, with my family being amazing and nice people who didn't deserve to suffer more than me

computer monitors are really useful! If you already had one, dual screens are very popular and give you lots more space. I like the idea of a christmas themed spiel though!

I agree I love dual monitors but like, the joke is it looks completely like a bike in wrapping paper and it's actually something that would never match that shape.
#252 to #251 - nickypickle (01/27/2015) [-]
I like your thinking~ but, monitors is kind of a strange object to apply for a present, or something negative. maybe clothing? kids hate getting clothes for christmas. or charcoal, in the shape of a bike, then crumbling onto the floor!

Little Johnny was sitting in class doing math problems when his teacher picked him to answer a question, "Johnny, if there were five birds sitting on a fence and you shot one with your gun, how many would be left?" "None," replied Johnny, "cause the rest would fly away." "Well, the answer is four," said the teacher, "but I like the way you're thinking." Little Johnny says, "I have a question for you. If there were three women eating ice cream cones in a shop, one was licking her cone, the second was biting her cone and the third was sucking her cone, which one is married?" "Well," said the teacher nervously, "I guess the one sucking the cone." "No," said Little Johnny, "the one with the wedding ring on her finger, but I like the way you're thinking."

An 85-year-old man was requested by his doctor for a sperm count as part of his physical exam.

The doctor gave the man a jar and said, "Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample tomorrow."

The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor's office and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day.

The doctor asked, what happened and the man explained.

"Well, doc, it's like this--first I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing. Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing. We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin' it between her knees, but still nothing."

The doctor was shocked! "You asked your neighbor?"

The old man replied, "Yep, none of us could get the jar open."

maybe at the end you could put the doctor pushing down and turning and popping the lid off easily

Jack strode into ‘John’s Stable’ looking to buy a horse.

"Listen here” said John, “I’ve got just the horse your looking for, the only thing is, he was trained by an interesting fellow. He doesn’t go and stop the usual way. The way to get him to stop is to scream heyhey the way to get him to go is to scream Thank God.

Jim nodded his head, “fine with me, can I take him for a test run?” Jim was having the time of his life this horse sure could run he thought to himself. Jim was speeding down the dirt road when he suddenly saw a cliff up ahead “stop!” screamed Jim, but the horse kept on going. No matter how much he tried he could not remember the words to get it to stop. “yoyo” screamed Jim but the horse just kept on speeding ahead. It was 5 feet from the cliff when Jim suddenly remembered “heyhey!” Jim screamed.

The horse skidded to a halt just 1 inch from the cliff.

Jim could not believe his good fortune, he looked up to the sky, raise his hands in the air, breathed a deep sigh of relief and said with conviction “Thank God.”

in the midst of making the comic, I had decided to take a background check, just in case.

this joke is old, and to me, the punchline is very expected. I very much appreciate your effort to give me ideas so we can share the credit of an OC but the same joke in the different comic is not OC. this was said to me by one of the users in my group chat. Some of the users in the comment community also recommended me to not repeat jokes.

I am still a beginner. I dont think I have any right to complain to an older user like you, and I dont even think that my posts can even compete with yours, but thats just how I feel. If you can give me original jokes, then I will happily make it into a comic and put your name with the crediting. thank you!
