It was a surefire way to make each episode meaningful and important, I really loved the change, especially after being reminded of fucking Inuyasha. I really loved the pacing, for example I was like no, Kiriba can't lose yet, its only halfway through, they're gonna pull something outta their ass, then BAM. Asuna dies. allofmywut. Then I thought, oh, so they're gonna go with the bloodrage thing, then Kirito dies, and I was like WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON. I love it when a piece of literature can play with my expectations in such a way.

Absolutely!! I sat there like "WTF?!?!" for the rest of the episode the moment she was hit! It was maybe one of the best shows i've ever watched and my first show i've watched subbed. Was extremely wary about watching it subbed but the first episode made me sit there and I just KNEW I had to watch it all

It created a rich universe, where the world of imagination collides with harsh reality, just think of the possibilities! Pushed around and bullied nerdy kid as a new main character, who just wants to be a god in a virtual realm, becomes a new villain/antihero/new main character, then Kirito would cross his path. They could unite for a common goal, or be at each others' throats. The writers made very good and complex characters, I hope they will have the funds one day to expand on the universe, showing possible new seasons the same effort.

Its extremely early to say it but I want an anime version of it that goes through each floor like that Progressive rewrite you mentioned, I didn't like jumping 20 floors every other episode..

I bet it's going to be horrible, unless FUNimation does it. Also, it really bothered me as a first-degree grammar nazi, the way whenever they said an english word, they just added an "o" to the end. Like Swordo Arto Online. But after the second episode, I just couldn't care less, I was so immersed in the story. It's very rare to find such a quality anime with no fillers whatsoever.

Aniplex has its hands on it which I'm kinda happy about. The english trailer isn't terrible its just gonna be hard to accept the english voice after watching it all in Japanese. Yeah there was hardly any filler and it actually made me kind of WANT filler. It was very well done and could have used soooo much more :)

But it surprised Kiriba, because she had to break the effect. So Asuna used an item Kiriba didn't think of, or exploited a bug. Or being the second most important character, she also managed it by sheer force of will which Klein and the others didn't posess.

Possibly, I like the idea that the time ran out but nobody had noticed..kinda. Like when whats his face of the Blood Knights (forgetting all the names) tried to kill Kirito with the paralyze poison it was a 5 or 10 minute countdown so I figured that'd be the countdown on everyone when Kayaba paralyzed everybody
