What's your view on Pontiac? Looking into buying a 2008 grand Prix as it handled well, nice mpg and it's the only car that I have enough leg space in at 6'3
If not that a 2001 ford expedition. You seem to be knowledgeable on cars

The Pontiac is decent the main problem with it is the steering column will eventually have something break in it and everyone you turn the wheel you'll feel a thud. Nothing to worry about it's a known problem for gm cars in those years it won't affect the driveability it's just real annoying. I sell Ford's my self so I am baised with Ford, but in this instance I would caution you away from the Ford because the expeditions with the 5.4l Triton engine have two major problems one is with the spark plugs fusing to the engine. There is a special tool for it, not a huge deal just really fucking annoying. The main issue is the cam phasers. If you hear a knocking or clicking g noise while driving it your fucked. The Pontiac is probably the better of the two to choose a good well taken care of expedition will last longer, but is a lot bigger of a risk than the pontiac. If the Pontiac has the 3.8l v6 then it's a no brainier. That is one of the best engines gm ever produced if maintained correctly it's unkillable.

I thank you for your input friend, I've been indecisive about it for a bit now, and done research, but with this information I'm going to get the Pontiac. Have a great day!

Funny you put "Jeep Wrangler" out as one that doesn't. Cuz I noticed that too.
I always have 2 vehicles at any given moment.
1) A cheap-as-I-can-get-new compact with good gas mileage which I can put as many miles on as possible until it dies and I get another...
2) A jeep wrangler for 4x4 stuff in the winter and hauling a trailer in the summer which I baby and regularly service to keep lasting forever.
I try to keep as little money in vehicles as possible (but 4x4/trailer capable vehicle is pretty much mandatory out in the sticks where I live).

I'm broke as fuck but i need a new car for like less than 10k, is it even worth trying to go to a dealership
I used to work at a Nissan so they might be abe to cut me a deal
or should I just look on Craigslist and hope I can find one from an old person?

Go to a reputable dealership with a manufacturer attached to it's name. The manufacturer forces dealerships to stand behind their cars. Be smart if you see a vehicle you like that has a good reputation buy it. Don't be afraid to go a little over budget on a good vehicle. If you find a Camry for 12,000 out the door on average credit it will raise your payment by $40 a month. Which is well worth it for piece of mind. If you want the best deal walk out the door when they won't move anymore. If they don't chase after you and let you get in your car you have the best deal. Be polite and friendly as a salesman I will fight harder for someone I like than a dick. Educate yourself and view vehicles online. Don't use Truecar or anything like that, because if you do the dealership has to pay Truecar for the lead and that comes out of the profit they give to you. If your credit is bad get a cosigner who is related to you. Like mom dad uncle aunt or grandparents. Look for about 3-4 year old sedans like Camry, Accord, Fusion, Jetta, and Subaru. Malibu is good too but not as good as the others. Stay away from Korean vehicles, Chrysler products, and old BMW, Mercedes. Korean vehicles have a 100000 mile warranty because they suck and banks won't finance them without it. The Jeep Wrangler is great the rest of Chrysler is really hit or miss you can get a good car, but it's risky if you don't know what to look for. Old BMW or Mercedes tend to have a lot of issues and if anything breaks it'll bankrupt you. If your anywhere near Florida I can look for a decent vehicle for you. Otherwise just be smart and be patient.
