I looked up the A70, and it's physical design is indicative of the shitty era. I would guess that your A70's internal fan was defective, based on what you said. There's a certain point in time where laptops just magically started being terrible. I avoid Acer like the plague after looking inside one of their 2007-ish laptops. I swear, the hinges were built with the express purpose of breaking.

I don't like the modern Toshiba company. The old Toshiba company though, the company that made my Satellite Pro 4600, they have my respect. It came out between 1999 and 2001, and it was planned out so well that were I to upgrade the RAM and the hard drive, I would be able to use it as a computer today. The thing came stock with a DVD-ROM drive. NOBODY had a DVD-ROM drive in frigging 2001. It's got every port that ever existed in 2001 except Firewire. And it's not afraid to crank up the fan when it gets hot, something modern laptops are typically scared-to-death of doing.

I was referring to the post but.... I really should've made myself more clear.

I would have just twisted the ends back together and electrical-taped over it, since the wires are just cut. No need to solder for something like that. They're not ripped out of the board.

I would solder only because it's the back of the tv where it gets hot and the electrical tape would fail after a while with the glue melting.

The old Satellites were fantastic. I've got an obsolete one, with a Pentium III @ 900MHz in it. The thing is a TANK.
A newer Satellite that fell into my hands got so hot the GPU's solder points melted themselves and the thing died.

well the one I'm talking about was made around the end of 2005 with a pentium 4, and honestly I don't care if they make the best product in the world. In my opinion if you don't stand behind your product then your company isn't worth shit. Btw it wasn't like this was a problem that came up this was how the computer was delivered to me right out of the box.
