definitely easier. I got a 5 on my AP Chem exam back in high school and an A on the class with very minimal studying, but since I took it on my sophomore year I decided to take the second part of Gen Chem in college before rushing into Organic just to refresh my memory and damn it was like a whole new world.
The material is practically the same, so I found the lectures rather repetitive because I remembered the stuff from when I took AP Chem. And then came the exams. I considered myself pretty good at chemistry when I left high school. I was one of the 4 people who got a 5 in the exam that year from our school after all. But the AP Exam was like a 10 minute worksheet compared to the exams they give in college.
There is no give away questions. There are no questions that cover a specific topic. You are suppossed to apply at 5-10 different concepts to solve even a problem they consider easy on these exams. I ended up getting a 69 on my first exam and wold have continued to do so if I hadn't started studying. Finished the class with a B but still consider it to be one of the toughest classes I've taken yet.
Granted my Uni's Chem department is on probation for having 55% of students fail each semester but still, I'm sure most competitive Universities will have the same level of difficulty.
If someone tells you college is easy, they are either lying, went to a college that was no where near competitive, or majored in stuff like Social Sciences and other easy shit.
If you plan on pursuing a science major you better buckle down and study, even if you graduated high school with high honors without ever reading a book like me.
Secondary Education is a joke. A Competitive University will really test your mettle.

way easier. in college you have one semester to learn everything while you have one year in high school. and in college it's usually harder anyway (im a freshman undergrad)
(although calc bc seems to be an exception because it covers AB in first semester and then the rest in 2nd semester (without taking AB before taking BC of course, or else you still get 2 years to learn what is covered in 1 year in college)...
although i think it's still easier because my friend took BC and didn't know how to integrate the natural log of a quadratic equation, which i had to do for my calc 2. btw calc 1 = ap calc AB)
