| You know to be honest i hate the death penalty, and not for the reasons you may think. I honestly believe it's not justice. 1) giving people life in prison is more justice than the death penalty, I like being beaten and raped and fearing how you will live through the next day is better justice than a human death for a lot of the people we give the death penalty to. 2) if i had a daughter and someone raped and tortured her i would want to doll out the punishment not watch them get an easy lethal injection, but since they won't give the offenders to the families of those they hurt life in prison seems like the next best thing. And as you said due to appeal rights waiting on death row takes years and s much fucking money is spent. But you are 100% right about the school thing, i never even thought about it like that. | ||

| it is prettty interesting that they do things that way over there, i wonder if America could benefit from having a prison system like that, both economically and socially. When you think about it we spend so much money on prisoners every year it's ridiculous, not to mention a lot of them are third strike offenders for things like drug sales or just assault and they are in for life. Also you ever notice how a man goes into jail for say robbery and he comes out twice as worse as he was when he went in? Maybe we should spend more time on reforming prisoners then on "punishing" them. actually, of all the states, Texas has apparently started doing this. and it actually costs more money to give a prisoner the death penalty than life in prison. i think that the educational system (or lack thereof) is what leads to America's high crime rates, especially amongst younger people who will flunk out of middle/high school. | you are welcome, i remember because the class that i was in was having a debate over how this Breivik' case would vary in different countries like America and Britain with different justice systems, populations and better/worse educational systems. it was a good day. it is prettty interesting that they do things that way over there, i wonder if America could benefit from having a prison system like that, both economically and socially.
