That's completely understandable. It's just that Leo seems to genuinely want one and he's definitely been in enough big movies with enough awesome performances to have one by now. It's just a shame.

Well, most actors genuinely want one, and there will always be actors or directors who will be overlooked - not because the Academy hates them, but because they have the bad luck that there are others who were just that tiny little bit better.

Johnny Depp has never won an Oscar. Neither have Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Steve Buscemi, Harvey Keitel, Edward Norton or Brad Pitt. These are some of the greatest actors of our generation, and they are all waiting in the same line as Leonardo DiCaprio.

It's even "worse" when you look at the directors. Hitchcock, Kubrick, Ridley Scott, Orson Welles, Tim Burton. That's major genius material, but not a single Oscar. Yet Mel Gibson won a "Best Director" oscar and Julia Roberts inexplicably won a "Best Actress" oscar.

That's exactly what that means.
Why on earth would you even ask?

It's hollywood, shallow and critical as fuck.

If you've been working at a job for a long while and there's a reward for doing well and many other of your "coworkers" have gotten this reward and you haven't, despite getting consistent assignments because you've proven you're good enough and you're constantly praised, you'd naturally start to feel your self-esteem falter a bit if you realized you have all the making of earning this reward but you're not getting it no matter how hard you try. You start to wonder if maybe you're not as good as you or your fans make you out to be. I thin anyone would feel naturally bad in this kind of situation. Maybe even cheated.

Heh. It's not such a great comparison, really. Just how I think it would feel.

That username rings familiar. Good to see you. Sorry if I don't recognize you as well as you'd hoped. Conversations never stick in my head for very long.

how is this like any other job? how many times have you been working at a job with a bunch of idiots and your manager gives you more responsibility because you are the only person there with a brain just to see him give the promotion to a tool? it doesn't matter how hard you work at something, it matters who you're sleeping with.... same concept goes to any job, no matter how prestigious the tittle is

Well, the Academy Awards are not about how good an actor is in general or how long he might have been waiting for an Oscar. They are about who was the best actor in a movie that appeared in that particular year. So no matter how good he might have been in a movie, if there was another guy who was even better, then he should not win in that year.

Yes, sometimes the Academy actually gives out the awards based on the fact that someone has been "overdue", but that is hardly fair to the other nominees in that year.

That makes sense. I guess I just don't care if an actor has won an Oscar or not. Most of my favorite actors of all time have never received one (not that they care, I think), and most of those who did, I couldn't care less about.

It's an award, simple as that. Most people, especially if they deserve it, enjoy awards. And considering the Oscars is probably one of the most esteemed rewards out there, its a pretty big fucking deal.

Well I don't know about you, but I look for features hidden behind clothes for women as well. I'd be very attracted if I knew the lady had dimples in her buttocks, or alternatively, fair colored areolae.

Hi, glad you still remember, haha. I've been kinda busy lately, not much free time for making comics. I do however have a couple of ideas for comics, so stay tuned :)

Well, if you like drawing, you'll get there. I've been drawing for about 17 years now, and also go to an art college, so it'd be a shame for me to be any worse ;)
