Then we need to stop this shit where either side of a fight are royally fucked. When the administration makes it where the bully and the victim are fucked, the victims can't afford to try and defend themselves. That was how it was for me. I actually gave a shit about my education, so when people started fucking with me, the only choice I did have was to go to the administration. "OMG SNITCH WTF!" Well, you're the supposed, sane adult. You tell me what I should've done.
#607 - ncsutroll (03/15/2014) [-]
i agree. administration is a HUGE part of the problem as well, needs to go back to letting kids be kids and learning to deal with your problems the right way rather than having to spend your entire life looking for other people to take care of things for you

Well I'm a black dude that like anime and final fantasy in middle school in predominately black school. I got picked on, got mad, had some fights(won some lost some) and then got left alone. Kids these days(little boys especially) need to learn that to be a man in this world is to stand up for want you believe in. Bet if he slugged one of the kids in the face with the backpack they would've back down. Problem solved, problem staying solved, rangers lead the way.

I don't think you understand the underlying point I'm getting at.

KIDS WON'T DEFEND THEMSELVES IF THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION CONTINUES WITH THIS SHIT ON FUCKING BOTH THE BULLY, AND THE VICTIM.

It's great that you didn't give a shit about potentially being fucked by the school admin, some of us actually cared about that sort of thing.
#114 - iworkforlaughs (03/14/2014) [-]
I get you but it comes with the territory, you fight in school then you BOTH get punished. SO WHAT. I didn't mind going to sac or the quiet room(what they were called in my school) if I could walk down the hallway without people making fun of me. Risks and rewards my friend, risks and rewards.
User avatar #116 - lolollo (03/14/2014) [-]
Yes, that's what I said, if you chose not to give a damn about your education, that's your decision. Some of us actually gave a damn about our futures, which is why it made no sense to have this bit where both the bully and victim get punished. You don't accept it with this bullshit "risk vs reward" logic, you fix the politics of it, because we're not a population of retards. But then again, I don't know, maybe it's because they got people like you running the school administration.
#125 - iworkforlaughs (03/14/2014) [-]
Dude my life is great, I finished high school, went to an awesome trade school, and do material inspection all over the country. School can't condone violence in ANY form or fashion victim or no. I don't see how getting into a fight could derail an education, but I turned out WAYY better than I thought I would. Also please refrain from the insults, no need for that.

Unless you beat the kid to death you're not getting expelled, detention or suspension won't derail your career unless you get into heroin during you time off(I joke). Seriously though, I didn't mind sitting in detention knowing that I had defended my love of video games and anime from those bastards. Probably not a good idea in college, but middle school and high school, you're not gonna get into life changing trouble over a fight, again unless you kill the kid or cripple him.(Hell I'm from Texas so maybe not even then lol).(NOT KIDDING)
User avatar #134 - lolollo (03/14/2014) [-]
Really? Sure wish someone would have told me that when I was 9...or better yet, I more wish that the school administration hadn't told me the opposite. It's why they need to change the way school administration sees bullying. They convinced you that getting in a fight would fuck you over for the rest of your life, which was made complicated by the fact that my parents would always take the route of "Well obviously you deserved it, since bullies only ever bully people who deserve it!" I'm so glad you were more than willing to risk fucking up your education only to discover what I had to wait until after high school to learn for myself, but not every kid is willing to do that. And oh yeah, you can just tell them "Fuck it, do it anyway!" but doesn't it make 1000x more sense to fix the system that's broken?

Stop telling people that you'll fuck them over for defending themselves only to later tell them "Oh, yeah, turned out defending yourself is the only way to do it."

User avatar #129 - lolollo (03/14/2014) [-]
You really don't see how the threat of suspension, expulsion, or juviline hall can derail an education?
#132 - iworkforlaughs (03/14/2014) [-]
Unless you beat the kid to death you're not getting expelled, detention or suspension won't derail your career unless you get into heroin during you time off(I joke). Seriously though, I didn't mind sitting in detention knowing that I had defended my love of video games and anime from those bastards. Probably not a good idea in college, but middle school and high school, you're not gonna get into life changing trouble over a fight, again unless you kill the kid or cripple him.(Hell I'm from Texas so maybe not even then lol).(NOT KIDDING)

It's kinda dumb like a lot of things in the Expanded Universe. I didn't read the actual source material, but basically he used the force to keep himself alive, surviving the fall and keeping his insides inside him. At some later point he got some mechanical legs and came back to kill Obi-Wan
