Err... no, it was just a terrible joke.

And to the question: "Why can't people just... Fuck off?"

It's because, believe it or not, that's how people improve as a population. If we were to live how we wanted, without the fear of criticism, we'd fall prey to things such as gluttony.

I think you misunderstood average. And i kinda begin to doubt you actually read the article. It has nothing to do with the amount of people voting, but with the kind of people that vote and why a part of those people vote republican.

Average American does NOT mean the majority of Americans. If you are an American who earns neither too much nor too little, you are an average American.

You cannot say "Average Americans will vote for Obama" OR Romney for that matter. You cannot say who someone is gonna vote for by the amount of money he earns. Some are gonna vote Obama, some Romney. The article explains Why some of them still vote republican even though it will most certainly bite them in the ass in the long run.

Yeah, basically he misunderstood that average americans doesnt mean ALL average americans. The article talks about a big amount of average americans voting for romney while it's basically bad for the average american and good for the top 1%.

It says no where that every average American votes for Romney, just that there are some middle class people who vote republican, even though republicans are known to fuck over anyone who isn't a rich fuck.

That's all the article is about, why there are still average people who vote republican even though they get fucked in the process.

Also, in this case, I'm pretty sure average means just your average day American, middle class people.

"Average Americans vote for Republican Candidates. Romney is a Republican Candidate. Therefore, Average Americans will vote for Romney."

The above is a logically valid and sound statement based upon the definition of "average" that I gave.

To say "Average Americans vote for Republican Candidates. Romney is a Republican Candidate/Obama is a Democratic Candidate. Therefore, Average Americans will vote for Obama." is NOT logically valid.

It is impossible for me to break down my logic further, as it would not be logically valid nor sound.

Yeah, but Romney still got a lot of votes. Which means, and I'm gonna make this simple, there were still a lot of people that voted for the republicans.

Or what did you mean? That, because Obama won, it must mean that no one voted for Romney at all?

User avatar #152 - nathiuz (11/07/2012) [-]
I'm assuming that "average" is also meaning"most" or "majority".

If average Americans vote for Republicans, then Romney should have received more votes.
