I respectfully but full heartedly disagree.

the fact that halo is feeling a lot more like battlefield or call of duty than halo and panders to that audience rather than halo audience.
example: the amount of time spent as locke is more than the amount of time spent as chief. Not to mention your fireteam is made up of spartans that are always there for you, meaning they can do all the fighting for you and if you go down, they can heal you which puts a damper on death being a consequence.
Also I would have accepted down the sight shooting if:

You could argue Halo 4 feels like CoD, but Halo 5 feels like Halo. Neither of them feel like Battlefield tho. In terms of pure playtime, the time spent as Chief nearly matches or exceeds the time played as Locke. The Chief's missions are by far the longest in the game. I also don't see how that is pandering to the CoD crowd. The team mechanics is how a team of Spartans would work, to nerf them wouldn't make much sense, and the pick up thing is a nice addition. I want to say that came from the guy that they could from Star Wars: Republic Commando, but I'm not entirely sure.

Good? Yes. Familiar? Not in the slightest. Thats the problem with the newer Halo games. They have a ton of improvements in the game but they're just too foreign for people. Here's a scenario, say a soda company like coke decided to change their recipe for coke to a fruity flavor rather than a cola flavor. The can would have a similar design to the old one, but the flavor is just too unexpected and different for you to enjoy. If they changed the name of the product then you'd probably enjoy, but again it's just not what you were expecting.

The only real difference between Halo 5 and Halo 2/3 is the higher mobility/movement options, which I enjoy. There's pretty much no other way to advance the gameplay at this point, or at least no other way that I can think off of the top of my head. The higher mobility options are a good way to advance the gameplay in my opinion.

Here's my opinion and its just mine but I felt that on the ground I felt more sluggish slow to movement, the new scope felt weird but its okay, I felt the jet booster's were nice but again it felt different then here your Chief kick some ass to hey team absorb all the fire and ill snipe and point at targets. I felt the campaign was nice but focused to much on Locke being somehow better It didn't introduce his team at all other then their comments during the game no backstory until a little right after the middle of the game. I felt most of the missions were lackluster I pushed through them not out of fun but just wanting to see the story not as many cut scenes as the others but the few they did have were great except for the yellow and facial movement of the Promethean's. But again to reiterate this is my opinion and review of the games campaign only I haven't had time to play multi.

You know Buck has already appeared in multiple Halo games before and requires absolutely no introduction right? Being as the team was composed to hunt Chief, it makes sense that there is no formal introduction as you're on the battlefield most of the game, and you don't really talk about what life was back home when you're being blasted at. Unless your home was on an abandoned ship for 7 years and you learned to speak Sangheili.

Higher mobility changes the entire pace of the game. Maps are now easier to traverse which means you engage faster and from more angles. Now, a way to fix it would be larger maps. But that means longer ranges you engage at, making close range weapons entirely useless.
The mobility is what killed Halo 5 for me. In my Halo, you jump and walk. You don't get to sprint, clamber, boost, pound, and hover too.

Agreed, but it's just not what people wanted.
If I wasn't clear enough in the last comment I love all the changes that they've done with the game play but it's just too different and unexpected for a lot of people to enjoy. To be honest I feel as though 343i were just looking for a way to make money off of an game idea they had so they just put the title of "Halo" on the cover and said it was the same thing.

Aiming down sites in an arena shooter, the charge things, the fly and scope, no local split screen, and the story was absolute trash
#132 - nathanbiggs (07/06/2016) [-]
Works literally exactly like scoping in, with the advantage of automatics gaining some much needed range. This was a good thing.
>the charge things
>fly and scope
What's wrong with that?
>no local split screen
While I wish it was in, it's not enough for me to not enjoy the game. I personally haven't played local splitscreen since Halo 3.
>the story was absolute trash
It's a lot better than 4s, and a lot better than people give it credit. 9 times out of 10 when I see someone complain about it those complaints could easily be applied to Bungie's Halo games as well.

Idk if it would feel the same, but i guess without spartan abilities and stuff it wouldn't feel the same anyway. I think the splitscreen is what makes it feel the least like halo. Halo has always been a game known for being able to play splits creen on. Guess you can't do anything about that though. I've heard people say it has to do with graphics.

I wouldn't be too upset as long as it looks better than the games released at 60fps, and as long as it doesn't stutter below 30fps at all. But it's strange because the ones that are at 60fps look fantastic, but it could be because they focus more on lighting (Doom/Black Ops) or cell shading (BL2) instead of multiple objects being rendered with HD textures.
