The ICP fans were a type of organization rather than just fans. Think of Furry. They accept anyone and, in ICP's words, "Give them a place to be themselves" or w/e. Accepting everyone is fine and good and all, but you're going to get flak for it.

As for connection to the music - not ALL ICP songs are bad, just most. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN5ezCTvqeQ for example is pretty good, imo. You can definitely see how people suffering from PTSD or other war-induced psychological damage can connect with this song.

All things said, it's just a group of people who identify themselves by the music the enjoy. It's like a "cheese head" (Packers Fan) or "Parrot Head" (Jimmy Buffet fan). Some take it a little far, but that's the same with anything with an fan base.
#92 - Dalhoff (12/20/2014) [-]
How dare you compare Packer fans to Jaggalos! Yet I do agree with the fact that some take it to far. Also ICP is under inspection by the FBI for being a possible gang. Mostly cause so many people in prisons have the hatchet man, or other ICP related images, tattooed on their bodies.

They dress up in funny clothes, put weird shit on their face and act like idiots with friends.

User avatar #87 - nass (12/16/2014) [-]
Well, certainly this post was about the "brutalness" of the german language which is bullshit. We have more words to describe a word like "skull" , but "Schädel" is simply the medical term and the most logical and common use. While I find it amusing, the mistakes in these jokes are enormous ( no matter what language) and I just wanted to clarify things.

But it's not their bosses who decides that, it's us, the customers. Ubisoft or EA release a rushed nearly unplayable game and people practically choke on their dicks to buy it. Then they cry while the company bathes in money and then they fucking do it again. This is our own damn fault and no one elses. If we as customers decisively show that we don't want these kinds of games they won't be making them. So far it's the opposite.

Truth be told, you really should know what you are getting into before you actually look into certain jobs. You obviously aren't going to want to apply to CD Projekt Red if you don't like RPGs, just like you would apply to Treyarch if you hate FPS's and Call of Duty.
If you just need the money and/or need some experience, then you might have to settle working on some shit you don't really want to make, which is a tough truth in every market. Then, if you truly do care about your work, you can move on to other companies that do give a shit.
Its pretty much what I will probably have to do after I graduate, seeing as though the only game company of note in my area is fucking EA, and the division that makes Madden and Golf games every year none the less.
#46 - AztecJew (12/12/2014) [-]
that's the predicament I'm in. I'm a game designer and I have a game concept/story line that has been received well whenever pitched. Problem? To make it the way I want I 'd have to go AAA studio, this would restrict a lot of the creative freedoms I have and would also make the whole thing subject to deadlining and the whims of the publisher. To avoid this I'd have to go AA, which means a vastly smaller budget, limiting what can be done and ultimately watering down my vision. Indie just isn't an option for this game unless there's some savant indie studio that can produce AAA quality games. Life is hard.
#58 - Ken M (12/12/2014) [-]
Compromise, do it at a AA studio. If it's a good game and you market it well it will make money and then you have a bigger budget for the next game.
User avatar #101 - AztecJew (12/12/2014) [-]
Probably the route I'll go. There was on studio in particular I knew had the ability to do it exactly how I want, it's just a matter of whether or not it will be the environment to do so. They released a lot of successful original, hence mine appealed to them, but I'm just out of m element trying to gauge the creative environment.
#56 - Ken M (12/12/2014) [-]
But you can't expect a AAA publisher to give you a super big budget and total creative freedom. You have to make the games they want you to make until you build up your reputation. But if you're being asked to work unreasonable hours and/or you get laid off, then I feel bad for you.
User avatar #100 - AztecJew (12/12/2014) [-]
True, and I understand that of course. AA may be the better route and then provided it goes well I can have more leverage to get a AAA on board. I just don't wanna have to do a remake later for it to be what I want it to be, but such is the nature of the beast, at that point it's more along the lines of not wanting to seem like I'm just redoing it to milk it as opposed to doing it how it was intended.
User avatar #40 - groundzero (12/12/2014) [-]
Well, in this day and age money is a problem. On one hand you can be an indie dev and go kickstarter like Star Citizien did. Or Just become a publisher so you can make any game you want. But money will be your main problem...
User avatar #39 - fuckinfuckinfuck (12/12/2014) [-]
Well said. Shit like that is also the reason that Sonic 06 sucked. That game actually had a lot of potential, and should have been great but was held back by lack of time to finish developing and bug testing. It also happened with Destiny, along with the fact that Activision just wants to release everything later and jew people out of their money.

Also, nice text color.

I'm from germany, too.

In what kinda store did you guys find that noname stuff?

Now I'm not alcoholic or anything but cheap drinking is always good. Tastes all the same anyways.
User avatar #93 - fistpump (12/12/2014) [-]
Have ever tasted the difference between cheap-as-you-can-find vodka and stuff that's maybe £20 a bottle? Cheap vodka is very watery, and it tastes like paint thinner. Drinking it makes me feel genuinely awful. But a reasonably priced bottle of vodka will be a little bit thicker (when chilled) and will have much, much less of a "bite" (when you recoil in horror because you just drank todenwasser) so it's actually quite nice.
You're right though, for the most part taste is pretty similar no matter what you have, unless it's beer. Beer has a fuck tonne of flavors, most spirits are just flavored bleach.
#94 - greedtheavaricious (12/12/2014) [-]
Ahh, I sort of agree on the vodka. Though, that seems to be the only thing (except for beer, like you mentioned) where the difference is actually notable. Had cheap vodka, about 5 bucks the bottle, then at a russian birthday party (stereotype much) we bought a.. I believe it was a bottle of vodka for 10 bucks.

Now, when it comes to beer I'm very picky, and canned beer generally tastes better to me.

Then we got stuff like Jägermeister and Jagdfürst, or just about any Kräuterlikör, really. Three different brands, including a lot of it on different concerts, no difference.
User avatar #95 - fistpump (12/12/2014) [-]
Yeah, well, it's not even the taste of the vodka that changes, it still tastes like toilet cleaner, it just doesn't peel as much skin from the back of your throat when you drink it.
I know that wine can taste a lot different dependent on where it's from, how it's made, what it's made from, etc. But to me, as somebody who rarely drinks any wine, it all tastes the exact same, even if it's cheap/expensive. You're right, Jagermeister is the same, I mean there's this herbal liqueur called Messerschmitt that I get instead of Jager because it's exactly the same taste but it costs £4 a bottle and Jager is £12.
User avatar #96 - greedtheavaricious (12/12/2014) [-]
Ohh, I forgot about the wine. I am an avid whine drinker, and it all depends on what sort of wine it is. Dry, semi dry, sweet... Now I prefer sweet wine, for these days when I just want to relax. Not a lot of alcohol, perfect to have a good time. Semi dry or dry really only when I'm feeling like shit and want to drink my problems away I know.. the bastards can swim

Gotta check if I can find Messerschnitt somewhere.

Ah, and I nearly forgot: He drunkly fucked a even more drunken girl in the dunes, while she was completly naked. But in front of the house. Where the light was shining. Everbody could see them and everbody did. Was quite entertaining though, especially when both decided to take a break and passed out for 10 minutes, just to continue happily after. When he escorted her to her, while she was still of course totally naked, they decided to continue in the shower. Lulz where had that night. He was from then as the "Sandstinger" ...

As someone from USA, what is/are the Bundeswehr? my guess is some type of special forces in Germany
User avatar #58 - nass (12/12/2014) [-]
It's just the name of the german Army. He's only doing 2 years there and after that he wants to go to the SEK (The Special Force of the german police, comparable to SWAT).

But "Bundeswehr" is the word for whole thing though: Marine, Air Force and the normal Army (and all other special forces).
