shippuden has a lot less filler. and some of the filler is relevant to the main story, like a character development part. that's why naruto was only good for like 100 episodes, then it was shit until shippuden.

I'm afraid I agree, cept I watch naruto in japanese, I don't watch it english dub, but dbz isn't nearly as deep as naruto is, and few of the characters in naruto become useless later on, they all develop their skills as time goes on and come back later. plus the plot and characters aren't shallow. Sure it's the basic evil guy kick his ass, but theres always some kind of twist, and always some character development. it's never just, Evil guy, kick his ass over the span of 30 episodes, like DBZ is. that said I also kinda like DBZ, I just think naruto is way better.

That is if ur willing to ignore the like 150 episodes between the sasuke retrieval ark of naruto, and naruto shippuden. That hugeass filler set was fuckin lame.

I just skipped those. I have no idea what happened within those arcs.

thats why i like the manga you skip over all the filler but it does take longer to see a scene even now im still catching up on episodes after having read all the chapters its a lot more interesting in the show too though

I wasn't aware of the WW2 rifle thing, but upon looking it up it seems he blocked their importation into the US from South Korea. Not the same as an outright sales ban, and I don't think they're even being made anymore anyway because they're outdated.

The small arms treaty (which hasn't been signed or even finalized yet, by the way) is concerned with combating already illegal international arms trade. The Obama ad ministration said it will not sign unless the 2nd Amendment is respected and the treaty will have no effect on domestic laws about private gun ownership and trade.

The Assault Weapons Ban is basically the first time Obama (as President) has supported actual gun control measures, and the law he supports was ALREADY implemented from 1994-2004. So it might be a bad move, but it's nothing new.
If by "passing laws without going through Congress" you mean executive orders, that IS legal and has been done by every president since Washington. The executive orders Obama has passed concerning gun control are almost trivial, take a look:
www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2013/01/16/here-are-the-23-executive-orders-on-gun-safety-signed-today-by-the-president/
Not signs of an imminent dictatorship.

And no one expects any law to be 100% effective, but that doesn't mean they'd be completely ineffective. When I say most mass shooters aren't hardened criminals, I mean they aren't members of gangs or drug cartels but more commonly middle-class white males without criminal connections, who usually get their guns legally.

There might be lots of "hardened criminals" out there, but most mass shooters don't have criminal records at all until they commit the act.

tl;dr Nothing Obama's done about guns is unprecedented or unusually tyrannical, and the Assault Weapons Ban could actually affect mass shooters' access to assault weapons.

I'd like to preface this by saying that I'm trying to clarify what I think Obama's views and preferred policies are, based on his statements and actions as President. His views aren't necessarily mine.

His stated agenda does not say anything about confiscating guns. Neither did the Assault Weapons Ban law he wants to reinstate. Even if he wanted to "take away our guns" he wouldn't have a chance of accomplishing it. He's not doing it by executive order, so he still has to pass his proposed laws through Congress.

I haven't personally made up my mind about the assault weapons ban. The evidence I've seen doesn't suggest it'll be effective, and I think any handheld weapon can be used legitimately for self defense. On the other hand, while these guns account for like 2% of violent crimes, they are commonly used in mass shootings. Mass shooters aren't hardened criminals with wide-reaching connections in the black market, they tend to be deranged but "ordinary" people who could be affected by a ban on sales.

I understand the argument about protection from tyranny, and I am partial to that argument myself. And it may apply to the assault weapons ban.
However, I don't see mental health and criminal record checks as a substantial impediment to that cause. Secret Service agents are subjected to intense background checks as well as training, so they are not an exception to that rule.

see i get what your saying but i think the real difference between our two ideas in this matter is what extend we both believe it will be taken to.

i have never expected the government to ban guns strictly in any way but in Obama's first term he successfully outlawed the sale of a certain ww2 rifle meaning you could still own it but you can't sell or buy them. i never saw this as a problem it was a high powered rifle that was not designed with a safety so i didn't think of it too much. but then the whole small arms treaty thing worried me a bit but after a month i forgot about it again. then the New Town shooting fiasco happened and everyone lost it but while everyone was loosing it obama passed laws without going through congress (which is illegal) but he wasn't the first to do it so they just overturned them and moved on. this worried me immensely because if he showed that kind of disrespect to laws then whats stopping him from becoming a dictator. but obama has never seemed to have the back bone to that sort of thing so tried to think it off. but after all of these gun debates more and more states are changing gun laws every week new york and Colorado for example have both passed bans on certain pieces of equipment that go along with guns ( which was stupid for Colorado because it wipes out a chunk of their economy since big gun companies are located in Colorado)
now i have never seen obama enforce any of the good ideas he's had but he for some reason is very good at enforcing the bad ones. so these laws have startled me quite a bit.
and then onto the guns being used in mass shootings. actually yes they are criminals just for thinking about doing what they've done should make them hardened. but i understand these are normal people but if you look at the facts the two of the guns used in the newtown shooting were banned in that state so somehow normal people can get these banned weapons. so i dont think they are effected by gun bans.

When he says "About $1000", I think he means $600, I think that was the highest the price was, and that was at the start (or when the higher gig versions came out, no idea)
