 Your son has spent more time alive than you have, and all of that was through the Institute. Furthermore, through dialogue, its easy to see he really doesn't give a shit about you. He's brash about your wife's (his mother) death passing it off as "at least it was necessary!". Passing that off, you find out he's released you. The fucker is 60 years old. How much time has he had to give a shit about you? Even if its some shit about "youre a backup" they took his for the express purpose of using his genetic code. It took the full 60 years to realize it was stable enough for the gen 3s? Or did they sit on their ass until they actually started? And then you get to the heart of it, he's dying, and he wants to pass the Institute onto you...some random asshole who barely knows how it works in the Commonwealth post nuclear holocaust, let alone in the Institute. Face it guy, he only wants you as director because he either a) feels guilt that he only now thinks of you b) is so far into nepotism that you're a better choice for him than his colleagues or c) thinks you to be so emotional and manipulatable that he can pour his agenda into you before he dies. What he tells you is that the Institute saved him, but what he means is "they have me such a lap of luxury I didn't need you, so I left you frozen." Plus, hid eventual plan, apparently, was to blow the Commonwealth to hell all because he finds them to be "filthy savages". That sure is one hell of a son you didn't even raise... PS, What kind of justification is "he's my son"? You didn't raise his ass. He's had more time to consider letting you out of cryo more than you were even alive. That's the kind of logic people use to justify perpetrating, or staying in some kind of abusive relationship.  that's why he got a .44 to the face, did it with Kellogg's revolver too. | ||
