Agreed. And the plethora of force powers that are basically lost by the time Episode I rolls around. Not to mention that Kreia says that if the Jedi contemporary to her were to duel a true SIth Lord (e.g. Revan, Tulak Hord, Ajunta Pall), they would realize they are nothing but children playing with toys. And even those Jedi were considered to be better duelists than the ones in the movies.

Me too. When you think about it, the original movies really take place in one of the most boring times in the Star Wars universe. The Jedi are weak. The Sith are weak. There are hardly any left for half the movies. It's kind of lame.
#141 - najrath (09/18/2012) [-]
Yeah.. and then they go and make The Force Unleashed and Starkiller can pull a star destroyer out of the sky... It makes me wonder how weak everyone actually was.

Well, considering that most of the length of those games comes from running around and killing the cannon fodder enemies, most of that could be skipped and you've got yourself 2-3 KOTOR I movies and probably 3 movies based off KOTOR II. Same length as the original series, only with better everything.
#138 - najrath (09/18/2012) [-]
Yeah, the story is much better than the original ones.. which I suppose is kind of sad to say. When anyone even mentions Star Wars I think of kotor and not the original six.

It's truly a shame because those games would make fantastic movies. Then there's also the problem about the movie's main plot twist already being revealed and common knowledge for Star Wars fans (the ones who accept the Expanded Universe).
#129 - najrath (09/18/2012) [-]
I think most fans would appreciate it even if they already knew the twist. It would most likely be a really long series though. A lot happens in those two games.

I would love that too, but I doubt it would ever happen. All people really go to the movies to see these days is CGI effects and explosions. A 3-6 part movie series about Revan would probably be too intensive for what most people would want to watch. Plus, you can just imagine the stupidity that would result from morons getting confused about new Star Wars movies coming out that take place 2000(?) years before the others.
#127 - najrath (09/18/2012) [-]
Yeah.. I know it would never happen, but a man can dream. If they did make it, they'd probably rewrite the story and make it awful, with Michael Bay directing it, so every time Revan walks into a room Bastila would strip and HK-47 would randomly explode.

I will keep that in mind. I wasn't expecting that anything good would come out of it. The whole SWTOR game and books leading up to it look like they just wanted to kill off every past major character for no particularly good reason. I guess that's part of the problem when they set a dude in the middle of the Star Wars universe that's supposed to be the most powerful Jedi/Sith of all time. Unless they just disposed of him abruptly, then it doesn't make any sense that the rest of the universe basically forgets about him and his followers in every major depiction.
#124 - najrath (09/18/2012) [-]
If they weren't making the original Star Wars movies worse and worse, I would love to see a movie out of the KoToR series. They're my favorite games and stories within a game.
