That's fair enough actually. If anything I'd want Katawa Shoujo routes to have been longer, espcially after the first run through where all you can think about is that void of how you'll never see the girl you chose ever say anything you won't have heard before. But I'm rambling, yeah I guess my hesitancy is just because it's a new VN which I've seen nothing of and will probably end up loving it as well.

I ended up loving Grisaia quite a bit. It's darker, heavier, and tugs at your heart quite a bit. Katawa Shoujo is much lighter, as if there aren't really any problems. The darkest routes in KS are Emi and Hanako, and they barely lay a finger on Grisaia. The contrasting downs to ups is absolutely fulfilling and satisfying, however. I didn't really get that "I'll never see them again" feeling, because the way they ended these routes was so masterful. The final image in Amane's route is so haunting, though, it still chokes me up.
#11 - Definitely recommend it. The feels can never be forgotten.  [+] (4 replies) 02/22/2014 on Hey, y'all. +1

mm problem is though is I read it's like.. 50 hours long in total, is that true?

See with Katawa Shoujo I read for like an hour or two each day late at night, and even then I only get through a handful of scenes - I'm just slow like that.

It'd probably take me like 2 months to get through Grisaia.

50 hours? Could be longer, actually.

It took me about a month to FLY through it (summertime and the livings easy), and then I left a route and a half due to the lack of interest. It's good to have something to read, though. I like it better longer (ha), because I know it will last.

Never played Grisaia lol.

Only wondering because I've heard people going on and on about the first one.

Well, it's all a matter of preference. I just liked her character quite a bit. But I would definitely agree that she has a rich story.
