Adding on to what anon said,
Sure, words hold the power to psychologically damage someone, everyone has feelings, even the "machos" would probably be shaken up by the wrong words from the right person, like a disappointed father, or directed at the right person, like at a spouse or child.

But, in this case, the words were likely not even directed at this person not that I enjoy being part of the same species as them . They went out of their way to be this offended. By a Priest. I understand people not wanting to hear about religion, but this is entirely exaggerated.
"God loves all people, You there, God loves you."
"MUH TRIGGERS! HATE SPEECH! AAAAAAH!" --> Physically assaulting someone. Really?

Have we really descended as a society to a point where people don't understand discretion? Where we are mentally so weak that we feel the necessity to share when what others say offend us? To this degree?
If you are uncomfortable with the way a coworker speaks to you, pull em aside and tell them. What necessity is there to make a scene at the water cooler? that's old people talk for "gathering points"
I would love to hear a situation, beyond some form of abuse such as bullying where the phrase "I'm offended" is truly needed.
"That stranger, on the other side of the room said something about fat people, which offends me, time to make a scene about it!"
"I have to let everyone know that I disagree with what this person said at such a fundamental level that it offends me"

It's ridiculous anyway you look at it, redundant and used as a way to victimize yourself to get others to pity you enough to care about what you say.
As for the message of the image: look at the definition of weakness:
Lacking the mental condition to take an "insult" it could be a joke, or something not even directed at you
Having to say that you are offended as a way of dealing with being "insulted"
Not being able to keep your nose out of shit that doesn't concern you because someone mentioned your "trigger" Try saying "Man, fuck fat people" at your local walmart when it's busy. Even if you're referring to sleeping with fat people, watch how people will go out of their way to be "insulted".

Words can only harm you as much as you let them. Ex: People can call me a faggot all day and I wont care, first cuz I know its not true and second cuz I have no respect for what they are saying. Nothing you say can ever hurt me, it might make me re-evaluate myself or convince me to think in a different way, but if you are saying something that I dont agree with then I simply think you are wrong. If you purposefully try to harm or demean me with words, then I think you are pathetic and disregard your opinion cuz you are clearly juvenile and an idiot. So why would words ever hurt you?

You speak as though I hold a hatred against all religion. I'm merely speaking against the generalization that all atheists are God-hating bastards. While there are a few of us like that, the vast majority don't hate religion, we just don't follow it.
