No, it is the day that cannabis culture chose for the celebration and consumption of cannabis because of an event that involved it at some point in the 1970s (I'm not too clear on the details, if you want specifics you can do the research yourself). Also, don't go grouping marijuana into the "drugs" category without at least attempting to clarify what type of drugs to which you are referring. Cocaine, meth and such are hard drugs. If you were to even classify marijuana as a drug, it would be a light drug at best. People don't know how to differentiate between different caliber drugs and because of that, marijuana is illegal and none of the soccer moms and others left over from the anti-pot age brought on by the hippie movement will even consider any other point of view.
