I wasn't seriously proposing that. I was just saying if you see a 12 year old with a gun, the primary assumption should be that its a toy. You should probably assess the situation longer than 2 seconds before shooting him.

And blaming parents is an easy out. That's no solution at all. There will always be bad parents.

Don't say what you don't mean.

I'll take "children in gangs" for $500, Trebek.
The police went in being told that there was a gunman pointing a gun at people. Are police not supposed to dispose of threats to the community? Should they have assessed the situation a little longer? Yes. Should the kid not have been brandishing a toy gun without an orange tip? Yes. Should the dispatcher have added in that the eyewitness said that the gun was probably a toy? Yes. Both parties are at fault and the law enforcement do not deserve to be demonized how they are because of the incident. The loss of life is unfortunate, but a witch hunt is not the answer.

Blaming bad parents is not an easy out. He was their child, so as parents they take a degree of responsibility. It's your exact thinking that leads to the self fulfilling prophecies that bad parents are. There are 3 solutions to solving the problem of the decline of quality of life due to bad parenting: Let it be and hope it all works out, exterminate them all, or they take personal responsibility to better themselves and their communities. I prefer the latter.

>policed get called about kid waving around a gun
>police arrive
>"haha, it's just a 12 y/o, theres literally a 0% change it's an actual gun"
>police killed by 12 y/o as initiation to join a gang

Yep, I see nothing wrong here, I'm sure once you're out of high school you'll consider running for president.

Yeah, instead shoot him right away.

You is smart, Mr.
#163 - ohemgeezus (12/19/2014) [-]
Where exactly did I say to immediately shoot? Can you quote that?
Seeing how you're trying to imply 12 year olds and younger would never hold/use a gun, I'd say I'm a lot smarter
User avatar #181 - Harkonnen (12/19/2014) [-]
And where did I say the police should just blow it off because he's a kid?
There's an appropriate medium here. My point is the police shot him way too soon.
#182 - ohemgeezus (12/19/2014) [-]
When did I say you said that?
The police shot him because he was reaching for his waistband(where the gun was). It's not a matter of, "they didn't wait", it's a matter of, "the kid made a dumb mistake that cost him his life"

Ban toy guns then if you're gonna shoot every black kids with a toy gun
#148 - muscularsystem (12/19/2014) [-]
Or... OR all children should be raised in good homes and taught to be polite and not point guns at people; especially ones that look real. On top of that, we could maybe think of realistic solutions instead of knee-jerk 2nd grade tier responses.

Innocent meaning they either didn't do anything wrong, and the police were just being jumpy, or, the supposed crime warranted no need for guns to be drawn or excessive physical force in the first place.

(Like, not wearing a seatbelt...or someone selling cigarettes, having prescription pills on their person...Heck someone got put in a chokehold because they refused to stop filming the police from their OWN porch.)

Obviously, some black people make the situation MUCH worse for themselves by struggling and fighting...which scares the police more...and makes them pull the trigger. but still, these people are still innocent.

If someone robs a store, harms someone, kills someone? i dont care, shoot him. We don't need bad seeds fucking up the community anymore than it already is. But its not right for the police to "set the stage" for a conflict when there isn't one. Then scream "acting aggressive, or resisting an officer" when they were the ones that started it.

There needs to be taught respect in BOTH directions. Respect for an accused, and respect for an officer.

Only the Mike Brown douche wasn't innocent, as far as I can recall from the recent shootings.

Aside from the fact that that case is debatable, that's only one example out of many.

No I judge a game on game play other merits too, but I've plugged countless hours into state of decay despite it having a hand full of flaws. It was still my opium for a good while. , in all truth i fucking sperged out playing as raiden. I hated that shit, not so much when i replayed after I matured and enjoyed much more, still not a 10/10 but closer. And as for it doesn't have story book ending? Maybe it shouldn't have a story book solution. End all, cure all solution for zombie sickness is in this little girls brain. Yeah, no. That's not how it works.
