well the cypher one is pretty easy, to him the matrix codes look like real life footage, they could have easily sendt him hidden messages that only he would understand without having to meet them enough times for it to become noticable by a trusting human.

Yeah, I like that explanation, but he goes on about how that steak tastes of real steak to him. That means he's plugged in, not just talking through a monitor.

In the matrix they call your in-matrix body a "mental representation of your digital self." That is actual a digital representation of your mental self.

I dunno, I think it's easier. Just, instead of wanting to cuddle a sad, cute thing, you want to edumacate the sad, dumb thing.
User avatar
#32 - thepizzadevourer (05/02/2015) [-]
This. I mean, when someone doesn't know something, our default response is "lol you're so stupid" instead of "hey, you get to learn something". How do we expect people to want to learn if we mock them every time they admit, or show, they don't know something? Instead we just get people hiding their ignorance so they don't have to be made fun of.
#36 - anon (05/02/2015) [-]
Well it's one thing just to be generally ignorant of something but this twat really acted so high up arrogant that feeling sorry for this person, is really kind of hard. It's one thing to not know something but if you act all high and mighty about something you clearly don't knwo and imply everywhere racism and evil intentions, then you deserve all the mocking and hate you get.
User avatar
#35 - meganinja (05/02/2015) [-]
It's one thing to be ignorant. I don't condone it but if you're ignorant then you are what you are. But if you're ignorant and you go around acting like you aren't (like this example) then you're making a massive ass of yourself and deserve to be mocked.
User avatar
#39 - thepizzadevourer (05/02/2015) [-]
yeah, this is an extreme example, but how are you supposed to know you're ignorant without making a mistake? I get that if you aren't certain of your knowledge you probably shouldn't jump in on matters you may not understand, but I feel we're a bit too harsh on this matter.

I think the ending was fine. I can understand why some people think it seemed rushed, but I think, overall, it ended at the right time. That last episode of the show was good. It put closure on the series.

No, and people shouldn't believe this stupid shit.

It isn't the number of words but the number of syllables that is important, hence why we study Shakespeare in graduate writing courses. If you want music in speech, write it in iambic pentameter. If you don't know what iambic pentameter is, you can refer to twitter.com/pentametron for examples, but it is a sentence with exactly 10 syllables. Usually it goes in a stressed - unstressed pattern.

Any number of syllables can have a different effect on people, but generally 6 to 8 syllable sentences are boring and 5 or less can have either effect depending on rhythm and rhyme.
#76 - kallesmange (05/01/2015) [-]
i think OP is just trying to exaggerate the point so it's easier to understand, it's not easy to understand how lyric works but i only think op tried to make the information a little more "kid frindly" or whatever you wanna call it.

Dude, it's not like it's a Steinbeck novel or something.

Having a good form in writing is of course important, but at the end of the day, it's all about semantics and conveying a message.
User avatar
#94 - incognitoad (05/01/2015) [-]
If people stop reading before the message is conveyed then you've missed the point in writing a message.
#75 - kallesmange (05/01/2015) [-]
wich this person gave you some very good tools to do, if you didn't get the message read it again, it's not only in writing but also in normal speaking this is relevant, not saying you "must know" but this guy gave some realy good writing/speaking tools.

I'm not really rocking that emo over-eye flap, but I can see my hair when having it casually, when it gets in your eye it's more like you have color filter over your one eye, it doesn't really block the sight. Usually, in my case, I only see my hair as a framing, imagine if you always saw an upper framing when looking at something. You'll get used to it.
#19 - vegasstoner (05/01/2015) [-]
i used to have hair kind of like that. but not as long. hair isnt really solid so you can kind of see through it with your hair just kind of making lines.

had hair like that all through highschool. honestly you just get used to it being there. its not like youre completely blind while its in front of your face, theres plenty of gaps to see through. but yeah, eventually you just dont even notice how much it impedes your vision

They always wear glasses you dont see them becouse of hair , but instead of eyepieces - monitors. They receive a signal from the mini-camera on the nose. But that is bad for eyes, that`s why they always cry.
