i refer you to comment #26, i thought the same thing at first, and i still fully believe it was a massive overreaction, but the clock was stored in a goddamn briefcase. If i was a teacher and in class and a fucking briefcase started beeping, i'd probably panic a bit too. now to go back to the fact that it was still an overreaction and why, he showed it to his 1st class teacher right away, he has a history of building electronic stuff like simple robots and shit, and he also showed it to his FUCKING ENGINEERING TEACHER and he was one of the ones who said he was worried it was a bomb. also they handcuffed the fucking kid when the police arrived and they aren't supposed to do that unless the person in question is seen as an active threat, which the clearly very scared and confused kid was absolutely not
