It's just the differences in the belief system. Now he could not be a real Methodist, or a real Baptist, but he's still a Christian as long as he believes.

I've gotten really tired of seeing this, so I thought I'd respond. Anyone who believes that Jesus Christ existed and performed miracles is technically a Christian. They don't have to follow his teachings, they don't have to go to church, they don't even have to think that he was a good person. As long as they believe he was the son of god, they are Christian. That's exactly how a belief system works, anyone that believes it is part of it.

That's true. However, all Christians are classified into smaller group based upon different beliefs within their Christianity. Each of these have specific church teachings on every problem. Someone can just be Christian by believing, but they don't have any idea of what it means to be beyond just that aspect.
