Sentience is the big factor for me. IDGAF furry, alien, whatever. If it's visually appealing and vaguely human shaped and sized and can carry a conversation with me then I don't see the problem.
Animal shaped things are kind of meh. I guess if it was my only option, and it's sentient, maybe. But if I was the last human left and there were no talking animals I'd be SOL.

Nothing is truly random, there are only things that have so many variables that you couldn't possibly predict the outcome.
OP is correct, but to predict the future in that fashion, you would have to know the location of every single atom in the universe, and the effects that they have on each other.
For all intents are purposes, it would be computationally impossible.

No, quantum events are truly random. Basically, every quantum particle/wave exists as a probability field, with certain properties being determined semirandomly. The best example is location of electrons. Though there is a pattern for where electrons will appear, for any specific electron, it is impossible to predict no matter how much information you have. Although an electron in my ass may have a 99.99999999999999% chance of being within one angstrom of the nucleus of the ass atom, there is some remote chance that it is on Alpha Centauri.
This is getting into speculative areas, but in multiverse theory, every possible quantum event does occur, but in different universes. The probability field arises from the fact that the number of universes where my ass electron is in my ass greatly outnumber the ones where it is on Alpha Centauri. In this theory, if it were on Alpha Centauri, the reason would be because we are in the universe where that happens. Why are we in that universe? Because my ass electron is on Alpha Centauri. Unsatisfying, huh?
