Cus that extremely arrogant of anyone, music isn't about lyrics or whatever you like its about speaking your mind, the roots of music were melodies and beats not someone depicting fucking imagery in a wonderful manner. And as for you "a few thousand" is an understatement. I think what people are failing to point out to you is that the charts in the modern day serve more as an indication of what people who like the current style of music being produced are buying the most of. Remember that due to modern technology the average 17-25 year old is consuming music from a large number of genres, including older ones. Because of this, the genres with fewer performers in them top the charts more easily, since a RHCP, Muse, etc. fan would be buying SOME of many groups (including old stuff by GD, etc.), while a rap fan would be buying from a far smaller collection of artists. So neither genre is actually "better," one just pulls higher ratings due to the smaller diversity of offerings (because the genre is still in its youth). | ||
