Ya I used to work in food service, customers would say it took 15 minutes to get their coffee. Every order was timestamped. I would tell them how long they actually waited and ask them if they'ed like me to make them wait the rest of the time they complained about. I was the Manager tho so I could get away with it.

What this guy said. You other guys are talking shit.

Its the CO2 build up which is the problem, without a way to get rid of the CO2 this wouldnt work underwater.

If you didnt need to get rid of CO2you could breathe so much slower, think about sprinting for example, thats like 95% anaerobic (without oxygen), but you breathing so hard while you run to get rid of the CO2. And afterwards to replace the Oxygen debt and get rid of CO2.

Even after you breathe out an entire lung full of CO2, your blood is still circulating and more CO2 is collecting in your lungs. Even if you breathe out seemingly all the air in your lungs, that feeling still persists because your blood is still collecting CO2 and bringing it to the lungs.
