It has no real moral basis. Civilization wouldn't have made it to Mount Sinai if people didn't already know that stealing and killing were bad. Tell me the Greeks didn't know that shit. All the bible does is tell you things they don't want you to do. And by "they" I mean the fucking Jews who wrote it. Cutting off part of a child's penis. Not wearing mixed fabrics. No shell-fish. Buttsecks bad. Yeah, sounds like the inspired work of a supreme being.

Wow, read the bible, and try to actually understand it, and you might have some validity to what you say. And the trip to Sinai was from Egypt, you idiot. The Israelites were enslaved and led out to Sinai, which has nothing to do with the moral validity. And for the things that the bible says you should do? There are reasons behind most of those that I myself know of, and the rest theologians can figure out. For example, Shellfish carried diseases that ancient civilization didn't know about and couldn't cure, like salmonella. Circumcision was a sign of submittance, and butt sex is a lustful thing, and lust happens to be one of the seven deadly sins. I personally don't know why mixed fabrics aren't allowed, but I'm sure there's an explanation.

No fucking shit it was from Egypt, dumbass. I'm saying mankind wouldn't have made it to that point in history if the Ten Commandments weren't already common knowledge. And by the way, these were common knowledge based on survival, not innate compassion by an all-loving god. Because if they were innate, like theologian William Lane Craig suggests, then why the fuck did Moses have to say them?
The immoralities in the bible come from God commanding the death of women and children...and that's not taking anything out of context, bud.

1 Samuel said to Saul, “I am the one the LORD sent to anoint you king over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the LORD. 2 This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy[a] all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

And what the fuck is this 7 deadly sins shit? I don't remember that anywhere in the bible. Oh wait, that's because, like most of Christianity, it was conceptualized long after Christ died and Rome became a Christian state.

So what's more likely to this "there's reasons behind it..." Supernatural sky daddy, or dogma selection theory? I'll go with the latter because I'm not a dumbass.

I don't care what sort of underlying message you get out of the slaughtering of people, but I really don't give a shit.

Oh I see, so setting out a religion's official rules, no matter how obvious they are, is completely pointless. That's just like saying that making murder against the law is pointless. And in the Old Testament, when the Amalekites were slaughtered, it was because they were an immoral people who were trying to do the same to the Israelites. In the Old Testament, God is depicted as significantly more terrifying, and horrible in our eyes, but all that He was doing in the Bible was ensuring the survival of Israel. And this 7 Deadly Sins shit has been around for awhile, just not under any set names.
Oh, and trying to trash a religion by saying "It must be wrong, because I'm not an idiot" really says a lot about your pride. I'm not trying to say that my religion is undeniably correct so much as trying to say there's a possibility it's correct, but all you're saying is "I don't believe in it, so there is NO WAY it's true, because I hold all the answers". That's basically all Atheism is. I hold no quarrels towards Atheists, I just don't hold the same beliefs and find their beliefs to be as unproven as ours.
