First, nobody would result to using nukes early.
Second, chances are no-one would use nukes at all.
Third, Russia has a much lower population and would not only have poorly trained troops but they would have far fewer.
Fourth, Russia's industrial and agricultural capabilities are to low to sustain a war with the US.
Fifth, Russian civilians support of the Russian government would not be enough to unitedly fight a war under the imposed conditions of wartime.

we have more tanks then every country in the world combined

like, I don't think you realize what that means. We have 2500 tanks sitting out in the desert doing nothing. 2500. Not to mention we are a country in perpetual war with foreign nations, as well as the large armies stationed in the middle east that could be pushed into russia through the mountains.

Since we are pretty much butt buddies with the UN, and the fact that most nations would lose a fuck load of money if the US fell, Russia would have pretty much every other first world country attacking them too, including, believe it or not, China.

Now, China is the only nation with an army that even competes with a america- If they lose america, they lose their top importer of goods and electronics- Which is a huge cut of their economy.

It would be a curbstomp on a global level. The new 7 day war, except this time, it involves 150 ICBM's targeting every major military base in Russia before they have the chance to sign a declaration of war.
User avatar #217 - lolfire (06/17/2013) [-]
The reason the cold war happened is because America CANNOT beat Russia.

Russia wins on man-power, field arms and anti-rocket systems.
(America's missiles couldn't touch Russia)

America wins on naval strength, range and aircraft.

However Russia's submarines are world class. They are more than capable of hitting America from anywhere in the world whilst being practically invisible.

Both countries would wreck themselves beyond recognition, but however, the last man standing would be Russia.
User avatar #218 - killinkyle (06/17/2013) [-]
Your joking, right?

The entire russian army pretty much disbanded because the communist goverment couldn't hold their economy together.

America holds one of the top economies in the world.

Russia has sold off half of their Submarines and equipment to foreign countries just to try and get back on their feet- And those Tsar bombs? They don't have those. As part of the pact, they dumped a bunch of nuclear weapons into the ocean/buried them.

Why are you even arguing this? Russia is not even a fraction of the power it was 30 years ago. It can barely support its own people, let alone an actual war.
User avatar #222 - jacksipian (06/17/2013) [-]
i agree with you and im on your side in this, but russia does have that whole "bury them with bodies" thing going for them :/ plus all of the stuff they do have left over from the Cold War has thicker armor than most of our stuff, America tended to focus on speed and maneuverability for our vehicles, while Russia tended to focus on armor and firepower for theirs. as far as missles and stuff go, ours are far more accurate than theirs because we wanted to minimize collateral damage, like we can take out any military base/city we wanted to and not have to worry too much about collateral damage, but Russia would take out a city/county to take out one target because they weren't as accurate, so they made up for that with a bigger blast so that even if they miss, they still get what they want. Though, this might have changed, im just going off of how it was during the Cold War. Feel free to correct me on whatever parts im wrong on, i love this sort of thing.
User avatar #223 - killinkyle (06/17/2013) [-]
I... Don't feel like going any further. This is an argument that will only lead to further red thumbs for either side, so I think its best to agree to disagree with them.

Just know that the Americans are a hell of a lot more advanced then they were during the cold war, due to our constant need to adapt to the wars we stuff ourselves into.

again not really, most soldiers from russia can start training from the age of about 12 and by the age of maybe 15 they can easily beat a fully trained us marine/navy seal in hand to hand combat or a gun fight, plus an extra maybe ten years of training and there vast numbers, not even murica would be able to beat them, plus its not about the soldiers, russia has enough nukes to literally take american off the map in one swift movement.

You're right. Welsh people are actually English, ever since Wales was annexed to England.

Coincidentally, England is part of Great Britain, and so English people can be called British.
