#90 - They're always wolfkin or dragonkin or any other 'cool' animal…  [+] (6 replies) 03/04/2015 on Someone needs a hug +8

I dunnow man, I've actually found an absolutely awesome way to fuck with them.

When they say that autistic wolfdragon shit, simply turn to them and say "okay, what breed?"

Most of them don't even actually know there are variations of the species and mythological creatures they're talking about.
"Eeun erreh fowm butt ficisal, I's a dwaggin!"
"Oh really, that's actually rather interesting. What species are you?"
"Wut? Dawgins dunt gawt speesees, stupid hoomin."
"Oh yes they do, there's actually several different documented types of species and some debate in the cryptozoological scientific community on dividing them into different genuses. The Imperial and Tibetan Lung, the Basilisk, the European Standard, the North African Wyvern, the Central American Quetzacoatl, there's actually a startling diversity."
"Nu-uh, u mei thunk dat, but they all jus da sayem."
"So you're going to discount aeons of research and documentation on the simple claim of lack of adhrence? Think of the Babylonian tales of Tiamat, the central-germanic portrayal of Fanfir, or the ancient greek portrayal of the Hydra. You claim to have knowledge of these specific cases and what they represent, when all psuedoscientific discovery points in the opposite direction?"

Agree with them, and go on to show how even in their own little world, their claims are fucking wrong. It scares the shit out of them and has no room to actually call bullshit when you point out that there are other animals that fall under the category of "Wolf" than "Grey" and "Princess Mononoke"(who was actually a human and named San, you plebs).

Unofficial Mythologyexplains here:

Quetzalcoatl was The Aztec Wind God. He was Singular Entity. Not a Species.

Known as far as the original mythos goes, but generally when something is able to be cannibalized into other aspects, this generally isn't held as being in quite so high of regard.
Think of the Jabberwock becoming a DnD monster, or Fanfir (Germanic Dragon from the story of Siegfried) or Tiamat (Babylonian dragon-goddess whose corpse formed the earth and sky).
A 7 headed dragon is also mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Christian New Testament as a representation of objective evil, does that mean that dragons aren't allowed to be featured in any following story?
