Uhh there are a lot of filler episodes where it is about the seedy side of society but not much action. There are episode with tons of gun fights and blood. If you are looking for a dark and gore filled anime go with Darker Than Black, GunGrave, Hellsing, or Gotei 13

I think there's a dark person in Tenjou Tenge.
If you want a person "Standing in the darkness because my goals are in the darkness and I'm so fucking emo and pathetic I can't even hug my mother because that would ruin my image" dark I'd suggest Naruto.
If you want a dark anime as in BLOOD GORE TITS RAPE MURDER KILL SLASH RUN I recommend Shigurui.
