Start with small changes to diet. Find healthy foods you like, or just cut down on what you normally eat. Find a resource to tell you what your recommended caloric intake is for a person that's your size who wants to lose about a pound a week, and take a couple minutes to find out how much you're consuming now, and then try and make some minor changes. Start small and work up. Best of luck bud

Find the kind of exercise you love doing, not just what is supposed to give you the biggest results and improve it to fit your needs.
To be dedicated you have to enjoy it too. I'm all for swimming, so I started lifting styrofoam weights.
You're supposed to keep them underwater, kind of reverse weightlifting and I love every second, even though normal weightlifting bores me.
Find the right medium, try different sports and fighting or martial arts and when you find it, abuse it!
