"If buying overpriced average sounding headphones floats your boat." i see so many comments like these but no "beats supporters" doing the opposite let people be happy with their purchase i like the happy medium of sound, comfort and not being butt ugly

Lol, if medium of sound means "muddy bass drowns out the music", and comfort means "stiff-ass cushions". Try a pair of Bose, douche.

You're welcome.
Btw, if my memory serves me correct, AOE3 is in a more modern setting with guns and stuff, which is partially why I like it less I think. So instead bronze age/iron age there's the discovery age and industrial age etc. Also, instead of it being simply blue team/red team like in previous AOE games, there are different nations and stuff thrown in the mix with their own strengths and weaknesses, which makes it more realistic but also more complex (remember what I said about the learning curve).

Good luck, and have fun :D

Correct, that's the most typical game setting. There are other ways to play too though, like winning by building a Wonder (which takes shit loads of supplies and basically shows your economic domination) and other crap like that.
And like I said, it doesn't have to be played out in one sitting, you can always pause/minimise or save/quit and go back another time. But you need to be watching when you're playing.

Nope, it's a real-time strategy game that you need to play consistently or you will be pwned by the AI when they attack.

It's a 4X Game

X-Plore: Look around and find interesting things.
X-Pand: Build more cities/colonies/space stations on the territory you just found.
X-Ploit: Improve the cities/colonies/space stations through various means, making the most of the resources you have acquired.
X-Terminate: Use those resources to kill everyone who isn't you and take their stuff.

Technically, it should be 4 E, but the "X" just sounds cooler.

You start with a few villagers, a town centre and limited supplies, and the map is totally black except for your village. You make new villagers, build houses, collect supplies, build farms, store houses, barracks, and beginning exploring the map. You move through the ages (eg. bronze age to iron age etc) and each different age unlocks more upgrades for your town and army. All the while attacking or defending your town from opposing players.

It's a pretty excellent game, I must say. Started playing it when I was 6 years old when AOE1 came in a Kelloggs cereal box.

If you're looking to get into the franchise I recommend Age of Mythology. Or Age of Empires 3 if you can handle a steeper learning curve. (Although personally I prefer AOM over AOE3)

I'd recomend AoE2 as they just released a fan made expancion called Forgotten Empires, which have alot of bug fixes and AI fixes.

I'm torrenting AO3 right now, I don't really get into the mythological stuff, thanks though, is it something that just like consistently goes, and you check up on it?
