mooghens (03/05/2013) [-] **mooghens rolled a random image posted in comment #277858 at Pokemon ** Well maybe the Japanese Emperor should have considered that BEFORE he fucking backstabbed the U.S. There haven't been a single war in history without civilian casualties. In fact you tend to win wars pretty fucking easily once the battle moves to one enemy's homeland because the population finds out that war is pretty fucking shit, and not really fun having going which the japanese thought up until that point. Especially when you can get vaporized at a moments notice, you kinda REALLY want your political leaders to find a peaceful solution. #848

N. Korean citizen (03/05/2013) [-] Well yes and no, the attack was based on Kyoto earlier but was later changed after a traveling agent wanted the area saved, so coordinates were changed, the death of the innocent were what was necessary because Japan was willing to keep the war going until the emperor noticed the attack on the innocent, he feared the death of more innocent people and the military could care less for the death of their troops. This attack on the innocent ended the war earlier by allowing for negotiations. Their military in fact wanted to keep the war going and almost wanted to kill the emperor for his surrender. Innocence is a great thing and reminds people why war is something of ignorance that is why the death of innocence is far more destructive to moral, sometimes it's not who is killed but who we can save. People always forget to put themselves in others' shoes. How would YOU feel, when typing that reply on your keyboard, to look out your window and see an A-bomb dropping in your backyard? I'm sure you would immediately justify this act of choosing the lesser evil and go with a proud smile on your face You can see that the women and children weren't exactly innocent. In many pacific islands that allied troops stormed, many Japanese had rooted in, sometimes including families. When faced with invasion, the women and children would sometimes go on the front lines themselves, sometimes even placing landmines on them and jumping under tanks, or would commit suicide en masse. Going with what mooghens said, these people were batshit crazy, and just because they were civilians didn't mean that they weren't going to kill you if they saw you. Now that doesn't make bombing a city right, but neither is losing more people than the bombings would cost. Considering the casualties were on the enemy side, and that the Japanese repeatedly had proven an unwillingness to surrender- there was no choice but to shock them so much that they did. Confining them to their island wouldn't have worked, they would have created more ships, more planes, and would have been a nuisance for the world, and eventually starve themselves to death. #871

N. Korean citizen (03/05/2013) [-] You didn't seem to understand, I'm not justifying action, I'm merely pointing out what happened, in this world there is no good vs bad. You may see it that way but the truth is war is war, I wouldn't say I'm innocent and neither would you from that response. I was saying that the war was what happened and innocence is where we find sanity without it we lose hope. What was it that we fought for if we cannot protect the innocence of the world. The fight was to protect people, and that was the goal. So if I did see a bomb I would know one thing, I won't be afraid because being in a homeland attack war is more traumatizing in my opinion, and another thing I won't base my justification on whether it is right or not, just rather how many more innocent people need to die in order for a war to end. What is the price of innocence and where will humans find it that we are only one race. So instead of getting mad at someone who is just trying to dignify humanity, we are all on the same page. | ||
