Well, by "current beliefs" I meant what I "believe" to be valid scientific observations I have read on the subject. I say believe because I'm not a scientist and didn't perform those experiments myself, so fuck all if I know 100% sure what I'm talking about.

Sincerely, a 16 year old with an open mind.

If you do it regularly for a year, yes, according to my current beliefs on the subject. And I stress regularly, it's the most important part of the entire thing.

And also the lung thing isn't about the toxins, it's about all the physical shit that gets on your bronchi. But it's not just weed that does that, it's smoke inhalation in general. Cigarettes, or a fucking house fire could cause that.

I used the word "toxin" to allow different ideas (tar is a toxin when it enters the body correct?). In reply to the "according to my current beliefs on the subject"; are you telling me it was all just theories you had in your head that you decided to share as fact? I must sleep now. I enjoyed this chat and if those were theories I kindly ask you to pose them as theories to begin with. Sincerely, a fifteen year old with a open mind.

Well, yes you are correct, however if you continue smoking weed regularly the new neurons created will be coated and destroyed and so on and so forth. Your brain does create and destroy neurons, but excess weed use destroys more than intended, and therefore causes cognitive detriment.

(And this is all irrelevant to the undisputed fact that smoking weed, or anything for that matter, fucks up your lungs.)
User avatar #151 - monkeywithgun (05/25/2012) [-]
I apologize if I came off as a "smartass" or "douche" I am just curious of the effects these have. So what you are telling me that if I were to smoke weed everyday for lets say a year, the neurons my brain creates would be coated with THC? (This, too, is irrelevant to the undisputed fact that after you stop smoking for a period of time your body will remove those toxins from your lungs).

Also do you have a source for the "the remaining synapse will have a much stronger bond therefore not effecting you as much." That seems plausible, but the brain is like an electric current. If a junction is broken, electricity doesn't double back, it just stops. But that's just speculation on my part, the fuck do I know?
User avatar #152 - monkeywithgun (05/25/2012) [-]
Actually I do have a source for it. It is a FANTASTIC book called The Compass of Pleasure by David J Linden (the writer is not the one claiming these facts).

Can't find the exact source, but I remember that it said (And I'm paraphrasing here, I might get terms wrong) that the THC in weed coats your brain cells, and if it keeps getting coated the cells get deformed or die.

Keep in mind this is from regular use weed, if you use it every once in a while and give your brain time to recover it does minimal damage.
User avatar #143 - monkeywithgun (05/25/2012) [-]
But wait. Your brain is constantly making and destroying neurons.. I think that theory (I will refer to it as a theory just for the sake of invalid facts) is a little off course. Also those bonds between the synapse become weaker as you become older. BUT the remaining synapse will have a much stronger bond therefore not effecting you as much. Please if you ever find that information I would greatly appreciate it.

Bullshit dude, it has SO been proven to kill the synapses in your brain. Yes that one experiment did happen, and it was a bullshit experiment, but others have been shown to cause the synapses in your brain to misfire.

Samuel 20:41: "After the boy had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone and bowed down before Jonathan three times, with is face to the ground. Then they kissed each other and wept together - but David wept the most."

Ruth 1:16-17: "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me."

fun fact about the bible, most of the ignorant masses that pound on it telling people that they can't do this or that in the name of god have really never sat down and looked at it, and seen that several relationships can there can be seen as possibly homosexual. I'll just leave you with this my man and be on my way, have a good day telling people what they can and can't do with their own lives.

Matthew 7:1: "Judge not, that you be not judged."
