Segments. No need for "Go hard or go home" attitude. It just leaves you wrecked and majorly fatigued all the time. Start with chest. Working the chest also works the triceps, so add a few supplemental exercises for triceps to the two or three compound movements for chest. Next day do shoulders and only shoulders. Shoulders can take a beating so work them hard. Next day do back. Working your back also works your biceps, and since it's very difficult to fatigue your back, you'll get a very hard bicep workout in the process, but if you feel you need more, do the same thing as chest day and add a few small additional exercises for just biceps. Last do lower body like abdomen and legs. After that give yourself a day off and repeat. This will maximize your body's ability to heal itself without overworking it to the point where you're physically incapable of doing anything and you feel shitty. You should also add 30 minutes to an hour of cardio either before or after your workouts except leg day. You will collapse. Source: this is my routine
