N. Korean citizen (02/07/2013) [-] Sorry to say that I for a fact can say that a principal has said that over the intercom, he has at my school. Now to say if the story is real or not, I don't know. Just thought I would point that out because I like trouble. Actually if you want me to ease your jimmies it was 3 schools connected together in the same building w/ classes going and interconnecting in between separate hallways/ wings. You're kidding, right? I'm across the street from the biggest middle school in the STATE of West Virginia. Which is weird, because I'm in the middle of Bum-fuck nowhere. They have 1200 kids over there. I could imagine some inner city schools having that many students. | ||

N. Korean citizen (02/07/2013) [-] Ok i'll give you some facts I guess. Alcohol does serious damage to the liver and brain, and damages many other organs, but the most damage is to those 2. Alcohol kills brain cells and slows reaction time. It causes people to have slurred speech and messes with their judgment center of the brain causing them to make horrible possibly life threatening decisions. Driving is one of the worst of these decisions. I can't really give you any facts about the other part about people who can't enjoy themselves at parties without drinking, just personal experiences of knowing/seeing these people. #62
-
N. Korean citizen (02/07/2013) [-] Who says they can't enjoy a party? Alcohol is fun, safe when used responsibly, and everything you said about it being a crutch only applies to alcoholics. Just because you don't drink or don't find it enjoyable doesn't detract from the fact that alcohol is a great pleasure, and tastes great to the people who like it. Forget even getting drunk, a rum and coke with a smoke is amazing for the taste buds and puts you in a good place. It makes good things better. so you might want to work on those issues you have there bud, being a buzzkill never got anyone friends. Quite frankly, I think people who don't drink can't be trusted. It's not natural and anyone who doesn't wear their vices on their sleeve clearly has some really dark ones lurking in the shadows. If you can't agree alcohol is great, well that just makes you plain weird. #68

N. Korean citizen (02/07/2013) [-] Whenever they go to a party, they have to drink. That's what's pathetic about it. They're surrounded by all their friends and this bores them. this makes them a boring person in general. So if I put flavoring in poison, you'd drink it? You'd drink flavored poison? Cool. I think people who drink can't be trusted. Who knows what they're going to do in their drunken state. They might try to fuck your sister, steal something from you, or drive home and wind up killing someone. #74

N. Korean citizen (02/07/2013) [-] Lmao wow, you get more and more laughable the more you post. Why go to parties than? You clearly don't have fun, clearly let your own issues impede on your ability to socialize, and judge people from a self imposed moral high ground that you simply don't possess. It's quite apparent you don't understand why people drink, even at the most basic level. Its obvious you're an outsider looking in, and until you can learn that its not the rest of the world that's wrong but you people are just going to see you for what you are: sad. And btw your definition of poison is incredibly laughable, by those standards tylonol, caffiene, cold medicine and even some foods are poisons. Have you ever taken medicine, had a coffee? Congrats, you altered your central nervous system and the way it functions and poisoned yourself. Your idea of how much control you lose when drunk would be pretty funny too if you didn't clearly actually believe it. I wonder what happened in your life to give you such a ridiculous idea of alcohol, was your dad a drunk? Your mom? Maybe you can't have fun at these parties and you subconsciously believe no one else can either? #77
-
N. Korean citizen (02/07/2013) [-] I'm not avoiding the people at the parties I go to who drink, I talk to them, but I don't preach at them at all. I have no problem socializing with people, I don't need beer like I said to have fun. I never drank coffee but of course I've taken medicine. No one in my family was a drunk, I just went to a pretty normal high-school i'm guessing and went to high-school parties. I'm in college now and go to college parties too. A lot of people drink there so that's where I see these things. #87

N. Korean citizen (02/07/2013) [-] And yet you hold misconceptions as wild as the ones you claim here. You use the word poison in the most general of terms, talks of the health risks of long term abusive drinking like they befall most people, and show no true understanding of why people drink. At best you are extremely confused, at worst your thought processes highly distorted. No one needs beer, much less to have a good time, they enjoy beer. You don't, that's cool. But don't act like your way is better, because its not. Whether you know it or not you are missing out, and if you truly have drank before multiple times sociably and still don't feel that way you have a very different idea of a good time than the vast majority of human beings. But regardless your logic is flawed, your knowledge of other human beings is flawed, and your knowledge of alcohol itself downright ignorant. People like to let loose after a long week, people like the feeling of a buzz, people like the taste of alcohol, and yes people use it as a social lubricant. You assume the only reason people drink is for escapism, and nothing could be farther from the truth. Alcohol has been used as a bonding tool for mankind for thousands of years because to be put into a shared perceptual state with close friends is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. To put it frankly, it makes good things better. It's rare to hear of a party where lots of people are drinking described as boring, but I sure have heard and been to dryer parties that have been dead as jimmy hoffa. You should really consider re-evaluating your perspective and becoming more open to new experiences and points of view, and please first and foremost do some actual research before posting. It will help you not look like an idiot in the future. #60
