Unfortunately I don't have the funds to just up and leave, especially for something that is overseas. With the field I'm going in, I should be able to make a good living in the U.S. and still get to travel to many European countries. Scotland is also placed on my list! :P

i suppose its harder to travel as much when your somewhere as big as the US, here its all pretty much close together and yea its my mates 21st so her dad (since her parents are seperated and he doesnt do much) guitily bought her whatever she wanted and she wanted a ten day stay in india for her and her two best mates so free trip to india XD

There's not really much reason for us to travel far west in the U.S. unless it's to visit family in California. If it's somewhere that far, we go by plane. There's no way to get to Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, etc. by car, so plane is the obvious choice :D Maybe I can visit some overseas FJ friends!

Absolutely in love with both programs. Adventure Time appeals to the child at heart (partially because of how cute all the characters are) and Breaking Bad is for adults (like I said, I don't consider myself an adult) and I love how realistic and dark the program is. Both are fun to watch and are excellently written.

Typing properly can be annoying when coding a program or creating a database (I'm in the I.T. major), so one little mistake can throw off the entire thing. >:(

I've gotten really used to it, but a syntax error is damn annoying when it won't let you know where your mistake is.

see i used to type really well but its that way that iv just gotten so used to doing several things at once that do things pretty fast its quite typical for me to be talking to several people at once while researching something for uni and taking notes on a lecture im listening to (like now lol except its a sociology essay im trying to do for tomorrow)

It's more with databases that I have a problem with. Usually with programming you have an interface that'll compile the code and tell you what's wrong with it. I use notepad for databases, so imagine sitting in the dark staring at a bright white screen for 20 minutes while scrolling down the entire page just to find a misplaced semi-colon or a misspelled word. That is not fun. The whole process of creating the database is not bad.

I also like to multitask. I'm not fond of just doing one thing at a time because it bores me, so I am usually listening to music, conversing on FJ, and designing a database or program. When it comes to a class setting, I'm different. I usually pay attention to the lectures while daydreaming from time to time.

nope in class im just the same i`m usually doodling and passing notes to a few mates lol made me pick up a weird way of remembering things though I can tie any subject the lecturer was on about to a specific doodle and thats how i study i always have to have an extra piece of papers at exams cause instead of remembering the answers i memorise the doodles and remember the answers that way works pretty well :)

I doodle so much in my statistics class that I actually created a deviantart account dedicated to it. So far I only have one up, but that class is so ridiculously boring that the subject might as well be Daydreaming 101. That's pretty amazing for you to actually associate your doodles to an actual lecture. The only way I can do it by looking at the notes I made my cartoon on.

that`s what economics used to be like because i had done it all a few years before and still remembered it fine well i stopped attending after a few weeks and my seminar tutor hated me for it i used to go in and just be like what exersizes at home? and sit down and answer everything easily drove her up the wall XD

I do enjoy family guy, but lately their humor has gotten a little stale, so I stopped watching a few months ago. I will pick it back up though since I still like it. My dad watches almost religiously. Whenever a new episode comes out, he pauses his movie just so he can watch those 30 minutes of family guy. I probably shouldn't tell him that it's on netflix.

I found myself enjoying Adventure Time and Breaking Bad more... weird combination of favorites.

see I love family guy but i had to take a break from it a while back cause it did get a little repetitve. I love the Simpsons. I wish the newer seasons were as great as the earlier ones, but just like family guy, it's gone stale. It's expected to happen though, and I'll watch it if there's nothing else on.

When I started watching Breaking Bad with a friend, we finished the entire first season that same night. It is intelligently written and really dark. Addicted from the first episode, and all I need to watch now is the fifth and final season. :)

Adventure time was recommended by a friend and I am so glad I started watching it. It's cute, funny, enjoyable with some adult humor thrown in every once in a while. I bought the first season the day after it came out. I got many weird looks when I went in to buy it... it also didn't help that it was the last copy the store had available. yea the simpsons did get really stale after a while but i didnt watch it for a few months and missed the majority of the last two seasons (think its on season 24 now no?) but its like friends no matter how many times you`ve seen the older episodes if theres nothing else on you can always watch it

It really depends on what kind of stuff they're into. I was never into any drama series until I started watching Breaking Bad, so it was a great introduction into the genre for me. The way some of the things are related is a bit shocking and unexpected which is why I love it.

Never gotten stoned, but I'll just have to take your word for it. lol I can recall a few episodes that are just damn weird and retarded, so you may not require it for the select parts.

If that system works for you and your mates, then that's great! I have a similar system, but recently I've had to clean my drawers of shit I've had since I was 12. Things like graded tests, school notes, and phonebooks. Why I even kept phonebooks at the age of 12 I'll never know.

I used to keep them so i could build things out of them just the other day I used all my books and old videos to make a sofa for me and a mate to sit on while we watched a film was pretty damn comfy once i added padding :)

I like to read a lot, but like I said, I lack the space. I already have a large seat in my room and my huge bed which covers part of the closet. I also have a bunch of drawers and a tv in my room, only leaving about 20-30% of free floor space. The size is gonna have to be small.

I love those as well. I loved peacocks as a kid, and we occasionally have humming birds visit and pollinate our flowers. As of now, I'd say I love the peregrine falcons. They're so quick and have amazing eyesight. Plus your coolness index goes through the roof if you were to tell anybody that you had a falcon.

I wouldn't mind three weeks in France, but of course under those circumstances, it wouldn't be as appealing. I'm learning French on my own, so it'd be a great opportunity to learn more about the culture and improve on my language skills.

I did have a good weekend, my family and I went to a hot air balloon festival where they had live music and food and all that good stuff. We witnessed 50 hot air balloons go up into the air. I got photos of it. I promised a FJ friend those photos, but I can't find my camera's usb cord. :(

My camera, unfortunately, does not share the same cable as others. :( It's a slightly different size so it doesn't exactly fit. I'm sure it's somewhere in my sister's room, so it shouldn't take too long to find it. As for the balloon festival, it was a beautiful sight! Especially at night, when they all come back and all the lights on the ground are reflecting off the balloons.

To be honest, since moving further north in the U.S, I have forgotten some of my Spanish words. I constantly speak it with my parents, but I've always spoken English when with my best friends or at school. And definitely get into one! You should tell me how it feels if you do go up! Heck, since I promised myself I'd visit France one day, I might as well go, too!

iv had quite alot of language related hilarious moments in my life the most embarrassing of which was when i was 11 and spoke for the first time to someone in my class in french, so of course i tried to talk to the boy i was hopelessly head over heels for and all i tried to say that i was too warm and ask him to open a window but as soon as i said Je suis chaude he started pissing hisself and i was like what whats wrong with je suis chaude i must have said it like five times before he finally controled himself enough to tell me i was telling him i was horny

lmao I remember one class i was in taught by a french woman (who for some reason sucked at spelling she used to get so pissed when i corrected her god i hated that woman ) who taught the whole class how to say neck but since she didnt bother with pronunciation i got to listen to the whole class say ass over and over again lol
I think the most epic class i had was an english lesson in france with a french woman who had lived in england for 2 years she couldnt understand why i started pissing myself laughing and made me stand up and explain what was so funny so i translated what she had said to the class:

My class always laughed when my French teacher pronounced "third" as "turd." And she always made the laughter worse by telling everyone she did not understand why it was so funny. Dear god, your moment takes the cake! Took me a while to get my laughter under control.

tbh even i have difficulty understanding some of the locals lol because its so far south theres a bit of spanish in the accent (which may make it easier for you but harder for me lol) but yea thing is you can learn as much as you want in school its all pretty much useless in practice unless you go somewhere as touristic as paris because of slang (that and iv only met one single good language teacher in all of the many schools i went to most gave up years ago and dont even bother correcting your pronunciation at all which leads to some pretty hilarious consequences :D)

I may have trouble with the accent depending on how quickly they speak. I may have lived in Florida for 15 years, but I still have not gotten used to the speed at which some of the locals speak. I also have cousins in California that speak unusually quick so it's hard for me to understand when I visit every once in a few years. My two French teachers from high school were very helpful and were fluent in the language. My second level of French was taught by a woman from Switzerland who was very nice. Unfortunately, since a lot of the students in that class forgot their material during the Summer and basically botched a lot of the pronunciations, we had to restart from the beginning, but at a quick pace. And I understand what you mean by pronunciations... this story is more of a misunderstanding issue, however. During presentations, many students said "Je suis excité." It's a good thing I did my research before doing mine.

well maybe montpellier or toulouse but i spent five years living next to a city called carcassonne and if you want to go somewhere less touristic than paris i would defo recommend there in may or late august 9cause there are alot of tourists that go there since its beyond stunning.

well my aunt lives on a piece of land next to a town called bugarach and if you dont mind living a bit on the rough side she basically loves having people to stay all she asks for is a bit of help with the garden or building the ruin on her land you should see all the ppl that go through her place theres folks from all over the world last i heard there was a family from germany and a guy from arizona :) and no need to know much french since nearly everyone in the area speaks english (thank god for me when i first moved over lol)

That all does sound very cool. While Paris is a definite destination of mine, I'd love to vacation through some of the smaller cities. And I looked up the cities you told me about and they were exactly the types of places I was looking for; however, I doubt the photos online can even compare to how amazing the locations look in person. Any type of experience in a foreign country, no matter how small is sure to be an adventure. I still would like to catch up on my French though. Communicating with the locals I'm sure is much more fun than speaking it to another student in class.

I'm sure the La Tour Eiffel and the Musée du Louvre are some of the most common tourist attractions (since IT IS Paris), but I'd really like to expand into some of the more commercially discrete locations.
