Actual serious spoiler for the game ahead. turns out the ending was cheesy and gay, but ultimately satisfying as fuck

1) Excellent, but short for an PRG.
2) Patience. As I said it's short.
3) Consequences to your actions and peaceful solutions explored through the concept of xenophobia and racism. Implied through several points in the story.
4) The creator put a lot of love into the game, and you can see it if you look around. It's quite fun to see every little detail, not to mention the soundtrack is amazing, including Toby Fox's magnum opus itself, Megalovania in the genocide route . Plus the fact that you can beat the game at level 1 is always a plus in my book.

Just want to give an unpopular opinion as to why I personally didn't like it, just so you have another perspective.

1) It's unique, the battle system of having a pseudo sh'mup game inside an RPG is decently fun, but it's heavily dependent on it's characters with a very bland story, and If you, like me, hate the characters, the game is an absolute drag to play through. The game tries to force a half-assed moral system down your throat, that rewards you with characters living and further developing, but they don't develop much, so if you hate them at first, you'll still hate them later. Take the battle system and put it in a different game and my opinions would have been different, but that one aspect is not enough to make up for all the aspects that drew me away from the game.
2) Play the demo first, then decide for yourself, but I always say wait for a sale
3) Like hanklecram said, people that like it say blind is the best way to go, so if you do potentially like I don't want to screw it over for you.
4) Soundtrack is bitchin', Short Skeleton guy and discount David Bowie are the only good characters, Dev put in a lot of work and unlike 90% of the indie trash on steam it's actually a fully functioning game.

While you might think the character arcs are boring, you HAVE to admit that the whole meta-narrative that it created around them was astonishing.

1. The best game, usurping portal as my favorite game

2. Undertale is 10$, but honestly just pirate it or play the demo and just pay if you want more of that kind of game

3. undertale is a game very dependant on it's story and characters... going in blind is the best way to do this

4. almost every selling point I could tell you would spoil the experience, literally just go download a torrent or whatever
