alot of people at least here in the US dont realize they can get a wide variety of decent food in good amounts at the local food banks.

and then there's the people who suddenly hit a rough patch in life but still feel too proud to even search for a food bank.

many churches and other religious centers usually either run a food bank or can direct people to find one or more local food bank locations.
many of them give out food and groceries once per week.

i once thought i knew what hungry feels like until i found out what it really feels like after not eating for alittle more than 24 hour period. i was like 11 and stayed over with a friend from soccer and his sister for one weekend. i was kind of a thin kid but found out the hard way why they were both thinner than me, they had shitty parents with problems and they ended up moving homes alot.
i'm grateful that i dont know what starvin like a marvin really feels like.
