I said imaginary numbers are unnecessary that's it. the only faggot here is you.
learn some respect? I never insulted you to begin with. I simply said that an imaginary number isn't practical in any form of applied mathematics.
#94 - anonymous (05/26/2013) [-]
Imaginary numbers aren't "necessary" for a lot of practical mathematics, but they do help to simplify things significantly. Most of electrical engineering involves tinkering with signals, and Fourier transformations and most other methods of frequency analysis are massively simplified by the use of the imaginary unit. Going even further, 3-d modelling often makes use of quaternions (a 4-d system making use of 3 imaginary units) to simplify rotation algorithms. The important lesson is that all mathematics is abstract and conceptual at its core, but can still provide tools and insight to physical reality regardless. "Imaginary numbers" are no more abstract than any others, it's just the concept of something like "3" or even "pi" comes up more frequently in everyday life, and we are more accustomed to it.

#76 - wolfmac (05/26/2013) [-]
imaginary numbers are integral in computer engineering. They allow for things to happen simultaneously but not in sync. You wouldnt even be able to turn on your computer without imaginary numbers. They are also extremely important for physics, which gives meaning to the world.
User avatar #81 - misterbatman (05/26/2013) [-]
Here's a man who knows what he's talking about. I mentioned picomonster(dot)com below because it discusses harmonic and dynamic changes, which are huge irl applications of imaginary numbers.

User avatar #79 - vegeta (05/26/2013) [-]
physics is still in the theoretical processes, and I feel we are getting more complex than we need to be.
I was unaware of the imaginary numbers in computers, however I'd like it broken down because an imaginary number is a number that cannot exist in any way shape or form...

Black people might, technically, have the same rights and oppurtunities as white people, however, because of what I've said before, that entire group of people has been largely unable to utilize it to its fullest potential. You're right. You can work extra hard like you are to become more successful. But the fact that some people work hard and some people don't has nothing to do with race. I was born well above the poverty line. I'm extremely grateful for all the opportunities I have and I know tons of black people who work their asses off too! I'm happy you worked so hard but are you telling me that every black person you knew in your situation was lazy and that every white person you knew in your situation is on the path to a better life? That's bullshit! You happened to be a hard worker! Which is good! That has nothing to do with the color of your skin. Plenty of white people are lazy pieces of shit!
User avatar #213 - misterbatman (03/09/2013) [-]
Oh, I agree that plenty of whites are pieces of shit - but if you look at test score averages and college admittance rates of students from the lower end of the socioeconomical scale, there is a clear difference between whites and blacks. I know that there are white niggers (we call them white trash), but there are a great deal more worthless niggers than worthless whites. All you have to do is take a head count in your High School's AP classes to see which race is more determined to succeed. Let's take my area, for example: I'm in one of the poorest counties in the United States and our population is 51% black, 43% white, 6% hispanic, 1% asian or other, yet whites make up a solid 4/5 of the top-level/AP class size (and our school has been certified a progressive academy). Take a look in the In-School-Suspension room, the bottom-level courses, and the credit-recovery groups, and who do you see? 90% of the students there will be niggers. They don't want to learn, and those of them who do are mocked by the nigger mass and told that they "act white" - even they recognize that intelligence and articulateness are attributes of the Caucasian ethnicity. The niggers know what they are - hell, they refer to themselves as niggers.

Traditionally African American Colleges still allow white students. As much as i respect Morgan Freeman, I still disagree with him. 1) He's just an actor. That doesn't make him an expert on social policies. 2) What I don't think he realizes is that those policies aren't trying to fight racism. I'll absolutely agree that, statistically, a large portion of underprivileged and impoverished people are black. You seem to think it's because they're "lazy and worthless." I think, as I've said before, the it's because we as a society still haven't fully recovered from our segregated history. Imagine you're a black man/woman living in the 1960s. All manner of discrimination has been outlawed and now you can do whatever any white person can! Hooray! The only problem is, you're uneducated and are currently working three jobs to pay for your shitty house and to feed your family. Oh well, maybe one of your kids will do better. Except, growing up in such a poor family, they couldn't get an education and needed to take the first job they could just to survive. And that goes on and on until present day. Black people aren't lazier than white people. They just literally did not have the same opportunities. Scholarships and colleges and stuff are there to fix that. As for the biology, I'm gonna try to explain how genetics works. The entire human genome has been mapped. We know where every gene is and what it does. As a Bio Major, I've gotten to read so many articles and papers about it including several about race. The ONLY difference, genetically, between white people and black people is the color of their skin. Any statistic about athleticism that that article brought up has nothing to do with the color of their skin.
User avatar #210 - misterbatman (03/07/2013) [-]
The problem with your argument is that you seem to think that blacks don't have the same opportunities whites do - and you're wrong. They get a free education, and they have the opportunity to study, learn, and get scholarships just like whites do. The problem is that they don't. Statistically speaking, whites in public schools are 38% more likely to graduate on time and with a higher average. Money doesn't have an effect on your test scores - the will to learn and raw intelligence do. I was born well below the poverty line and I'm planning on attending school basically for free because I studied and worked my ass off. It's not because I'm white, it's because I gave a damn. When I tell you that the blacks in America are worthless, I say that because I grew up in the same sociopolitical standing as the niggers we're talking about. I grew up doing manual labor, mowing lawns, moving furniture, etc to make pocket money. But I grew beyond that because I wasn't satisfied with my life and I wanted more for myself and my children - so I studied. I didn't have nice clothes, I didn't get a race advantage - but I wasn't a worthless turd. I actually wanted to take advantage of the free education I was offered, unlike the subhuman nigger race.
User avatar #211 - blewws (03/07/2013) [-]
